The HP Poly CCX 505 Business Media Phone with Open SIP and PoE (82Z82AA) is a 24-line IP desk phone with a 5-inch colour multi-touch screen, for businesses running a SIP-based phone system or hosted SIP service.
It combines Poly HD Voice with NoiseBlockAI on the speakerphone and Acoustic Fence on the handset and wired headset, so the other party hears the caller rather than the office. Power comes from the network cable over PoE; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in.
Before you order: This is the Open SIP version for SIP call platforms. It is powered by PoE – if your switch is not PoE, you need the optional 48 V power adapter, which is not included.

What It Means in Practice
- One network cable carries both data and power when plugged into an 802.3af PoE switch port.
- The second Gigabit port lets a PC share the same wall socket as the phone.
- Wi-Fi (2.4 and 5 GHz) lets the phone sit where there is no network socket – but then it needs the optional power adapter.
- Headsets connect via USB-A, USB-C, the RJ-9 headset jack or EHS for wireless headsets, and Bluetooth for mobile headsets.
What Will Not Work
- It will not power up on a non-PoE switch without the optional AC adapter (48 VDC, sold separately).
- This is not the Microsoft Teams edition – it is supplied with Open SIP firmware.
- It does not work on an analogue (PSTN) line or directly on an ISDN line; it needs a SIP server or service.

The CCX 505 is Poly's mid-range touchscreen desk phone and makes the most sense where users take many calls on speaker or headset. Plan PoE first: a PoE network switch avoids a power brick on every desk.

✕ Skip it if your organisation standardises on Microsoft Teams phones – choose the Teams edition instead.
