HP CE980A Toner Collection Unit — up to 150,000 pages
Original HPUp to 150,000 pagesCP5525 · M750 · M775User-replaceable
The HP CE980A is the original HP Color LaserJet toner collection unit for the Color LaserJet Enterprise CP5525 series, the Color LaserJet Enterprise M750 and the Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M775. It collects the excess toner from the imaging process and is rated for up to 150,000 pages.
When the printer reports that the toner collection unit is nearly full or full, it stops printing until the unit is replaced. Keeping a spare CE980A on hand avoids downtime in busy A3 colour workgroups.
Before you order: CE980A fits only the HP Color LaserJet CP5525 series, M750 and M775 MFP. It does not fit the smaller CP5225 A3 printers.
What's in the Box
- HP CE980A toner collection unit
- Installation guide
- Recycling guide and return label
- Toner wipe cloth
What It Means in Practice
- Replace it when the control panel shows the toner collection unit message; the printer will not continue printing with a full unit.
- Page yield depends on coverage and colour mix; heavy colour printing fills it sooner.
- Replacement takes a minute and needs no tools.
- Seal the used unit with its cap and use the recycling guide in the box.
What Will Not Work
- HP Color LaserJet CP5225 / CP5220 printers — different consumables.
- Monochrome LaserJet models.
- Emptying and reusing — the unit is designed as a sealed, single-use part.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The CE980A is a small part that stops a large A3 colour printer when it is full, so keep a spare for every CP5525, M750 or M775 you run. If you are relocating the printer onto the network, see our network cables.
✓ Buy it if you run an HP Color LaserJet CP5525, M750 or M775 MFP.
✕ Skip it if your printer is a CP5225 or another HP model — send us the model and we will find the right part.
→ Also consider Original HP toner cartridges for the same printers.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
