HP x755w 32 GB — 70 / 20 MB/s, Sliding Capless, 8.8 g
32 GBUSB 3.1, Type-A70 MB/s read / 20 MB/s write55 x 17.2 x 9.5 mm, 8.8 g
The HP x755w is a 32 GB USB 3.1 flash drive in a sliding capless body, 55 x 17.2 x 9.5 mm and 8.8 g. PNY, which makes and warrants HP-branded drives, publishes read speeds of up to 70 MB/s and write speeds of up to 20 MB/s for this capacity specifically — the larger versions are rated higher.
Compatibility — check before buying:
HP does not make this drive. HP-branded flash memory is manufactured and warranted under licence by PNY Technologies, which publishes the specification and the warranty. Any claim goes to PNY, which is also why HP’s own site carries no specification for it. This is a USB Type-A drive with no USB-C connector and no adapter in the pack. The speeds here are published per capacity, and this 32 GB is not the fast one. PNY states 70 MB/s read and 20 MB/s write at 16 and 32 GB, and 75 / 30 at 64, 128 and 256 GB. So the 64 GB is not merely bigger — it writes half as long again. If the price gap is small, that is worth knowing. One family to keep clear of: the HP 712w (
HPFD712B-A-…) is the newer everyday HP stick at up to 120 MB/s read, and the v212 and v222w are USB 2.0 drives at 14 MB/s and 3 to 4 MB/s write respectively. All four wear the same badge. Order by part number. PNY publishes no material, no colour as a specification row and no keyring loop for the x755w, so none appear here — the drive is blue in PNY’s own imagery.Best For

✓ Machines and laptops with USB-A ports
✓ Anyone who keeps losing caps — the connector slides
✓ Replacing a USB 2.0 stick where the difference will actually be felt
✓ Buying several at once for an office or a classroom
✓ Buyers who want figures measured at the capacity they are buying
Key Features
Speeds published per capacity
PNY states 70 / 20 for the 16 and 32 GB and 75 / 30 for the 64 GB and above. Most makers quote one number for a whole family; publishing two tiers is more honest and tells you something useful about which size to buy.
Sliding capless design
The connector slides out of the body rather than sitting under a removable cap. Nothing to lose, and nothing rattling loose in a bag.
8.8 grams, 55 millimetres
A conventional full-size body with published dimensions — which, on HP-branded drives, is not a given. Long enough to grip and pull out of a recessed port.
Wide temperature range
Rated 0 to 60 °C in operation and -25 to 85 °C in storage, broader than many consumer drives publish.

Singular Expert Insight
The x755w is the best-documented of the HP-branded drives, and that is a real virtue: PNY publishes dimensions, weight, temperatures, an operating-system list, and read and write figures split by capacity — none of which it does for the faster 712w. What that documentation tells you here is to think about the 64 GB, which reads a little quicker and writes half as fast again for what is usually a modest difference. At 32 GB this is a sensible, unremarkable everyday stick with a sliding body and a two-year term. If raw read speed is what you are after, the 712w at 120 MB/s is the HP-badged answer, and several drives in our USB flash drives range publish more besides. For large working files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a 32 GB USB-A stick with no cap to lose, published dimensions and speeds, a known badge and a two-year term.
Skip it if
You write files often — the 64 GB x755w writes at 30 MB/s against 20 here. Or you want the fastest HP stick, which is the 712w.
Also consider
HP x755w 64 GB at 75 / 30 — the better buy in most cases. HP 712w for up to 120 MB/s read. Any USB-C drive if a phone is involved.
