HPE 1000W Flex Slot Titanium Hot Plug Power Supply Kit
1000 W outputFlex Slot · hot plug80 PLUS Titanium100–240 V AC
The HPE P03178-B21 is a 1000 W Flex Slot Titanium hot-plug power supply kit for HPE ProLiant servers that use the Flex Slot power bay, built for administrators who need a redundant or higher-capacity supply without taking the server down.
It slides into an empty Flex Slot bay from the rear of the server and locks in without tools. Install a second identical unit and the server can run with N+1 redundancy: if one supply fails or is removed for service, the other keeps the server running. HPE rates it from 91.2% efficiency at 100 V up to 95.3% at 240 V, which keeps heat and power cost down in racks that run around the clock.
Before you order: Flex Slot supplies only fit servers with Flex Slot power bays. Check that your server model lists the 1000W Flex Slot Titanium supply in its HPE QuickSpecs, and do not mix it with supplies of a different wattage or efficiency class in the same server. Older Common Slot servers (Gen9 and earlier) are not compatible.
What's in the Box
- 1 × HPE 1000W Flex Slot Titanium Hot Plug power supply
- 1 × 2 m C13 to C14 power jumper cable (for PDU connection)
- Installation and safety documentation
What It Means in Practice
- Adds redundancy: two supplies let the server keep running through a supply failure or a planned swap.
- Hot plug: a failed supply can be replaced while the server stays online, with no tools.
- The C14 inlet is designed for a rack PDU (C13 outlet). For a wall socket you need a separate C13 to Schuko cable.
- At 230–240 V mains, as used in Cyprus, the supply works in its most efficient range.
What Will Not Work
- Servers without Flex Slot bays, including Common Slot (Gen9 and older) systems.
- Mixing with 500 W, 800 W or other Flex Slot supplies in the same server: install matching supplies.
- Direct connection to a wall socket with the included cable: the supplied C13–C14 jumper needs a PDU.
- DC power: this is an AC-input supply only.
Key Features
Flex Slot form factor
Fits the Flex Slot power bay used across HPE ProLiant rack and tower servers that support it, with tool-less hot-plug installation.
Titanium efficiency
HPE rates efficiency at 91.2% (100 V) up to 95.3% (240 V), reducing heat output and running costs.
Wide input range
Accepts 100–240 V AC at 50–60 Hz, from 11.0 A at 100 V down to 4.4 A at 240 V.
Redundancy ready
Pair two identical supplies for N+1 redundancy so a single supply failure does not stop the server.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I run a server on just one of these supplies?
Yes, if the server load stays within 1000 W. You only get redundancy when a second identical supply is installed.
Does it work on 230 V in Cyprus?
Yes. The input range is 100–240 V AC, and efficiency is highest at 230–240 V.
Can I mix it with my existing 800 W supply?
No. HPE requires matching Flex Slot supplies in the same server. Replace both or add an identical 1000 W unit.
Which cable do I need for a wall socket?
The included 2 m C13–C14 cable is for a PDU. For a standard socket, use a C13 to Schuko power cable.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A 1000 W Titanium Flex Slot supply makes sense for servers with multiple CPUs, many drives or GPUs, where 800 W leaves little headroom. For lighter servers, a lower-wattage Flex Slot supply is usually enough. If you are not sure which supply your server takes, see
our high-wattage power supply range or send us the server model and serial-number label.
✓ Buy it if your HPE ProLiant server has Flex Slot bays, lists the 1000W Titanium supply in its QuickSpecs, and you want redundancy or more power headroom.
✕ Skip it if your server uses Common Slot supplies, already runs a different Flex Slot wattage you do not plan to replace, or you need DC input.
→ Also consider a second identical P03178-B21 for full N+1 redundancy, and a C13–C14 or C13–Schuko power cable for each supply.
