The IB-HUB1720-U3 expands a compatible computer’s USB-A connection into eighteen USB-A data ports and two separate USB-A charging ports. It suits a desk or equipment station with many wired peripherals. One hub, the USB-B to USB-A host cable, power adapter, AC cord and manual are included. Peripherals and their individual cables are separate.
Before you order:
The two charging ports are dedicated charging connections; do not count them as two extra data ports. The USB-B host link is rated up to 5Gbps and is shared by connected devices. A per-port 5Gbps rating is not eighteen simultaneous independent 5Gbps links.
What It Means in Practice
- Connect the supplied power adapter and AC cord, connect the USB-B host socket to a computer’s USB-A port with the included 80cm cable, then attach peripherals to the data ports. Use the two dedicated charging ports for compatible USB-powered devices.
What Will Not Work
- It does not add video outputs or Ethernet. A charging-only connection is not a data path. Do not plan eighteen concurrent full-speed storage transfers from one 5Gbps upstream link.
