Hyper HyperDrive Next HD4006GL — 11-Port USB-C Hub with Dual 4K 60Hz HDMI and 140W PD 3.1

2x HDMI 4K 60Hz10 Gbps USB-C and USB-AUHS-II SD + microSD140W PD 3.1 pass-through

The Hyper HyperDrive Next HD4006GL is an eleven-port USB-C hub for people who want two 4K 60Hz monitors, fast card slots, wired network and laptop charging from one laptop cable without buying a full docking station. Hyper builds it from 100% recycled aluminium and 85% recycled plastic, and it draws no more desk space than a phone.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Two extended displays need an MST-capable host: Windows laptops and Chromebooks with DisplayPort Alt Mode qualify. On a Mac the hub is limited to a single external monitor (Hyper’s own statement); there is no DisplayLink chip to work around it. Laptop charging needs your own USB-C PD charger in the PD port: with a PD 3.1 charger and a PD 3.1 laptop the user guide gives up to 125 W to the laptop, while the product listing header still says 100 W, so plan on 100 W unless both ends are PD 3.1. Hyper publishes no host cable length. Of the two USB-A ports one is 10 Gbps and one is 5 Gbps.

Best For

✓ Windows or Chromebook laptops with two 4K office monitors
✓ Photographers and videographers offloading UHS-II cards
✓ Home offices that want wired Ethernet from a thin laptop
✓ Hot-desking with a single cable to plug in
✓ MacBook users who need one 4K 60Hz monitor plus ports
✓ Travel kits where a dock is too heavy

Key Features

Dual HDMI 2.0 at 4K 60Hz
Two HDMI outputs run two extended 3840 x 2160 displays at 60 Hz on MST-capable Windows and ChromeOS hosts; a Mac gets one.

Fast data everywhere
Two USB-C 10 Gbps ports and a 10 Gbps USB-A keep an NVMe SSD enclosure at speed; the second USB-A at 5 Gbps suits a mouse receiver or stick. SD and microSD slots are UHS-II at up to 312 MB/s.

Network, audio and power
Gigabit RJ45, a 3.5 mm combo headset jack and a USB-C PD 3.1 input that accepts up to 140 W and passes up to 125 W through to a PD 3.1 laptop.

Built from recycled material
100% recycled aluminium shell and 85% recycled plastic, 126 x 48.5 x 15 mm, about 95 g.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I run two extended monitors from a MacBook with the HD4006GL?
No. Hyper states the hub is limited to a single monitor on Mac, because macOS does not support MST and this hub has no DisplayLink chip. One 4K 60Hz display works; the second HDMI would only mirror at best.
How much power does my laptop actually get?
That depends on the charger and the laptop. With a PD 3.1 charger of 140 W and a PD 3.1 laptop the guide allows up to 125 W. With a 100 W or 65 W PD 3.0 charger the laptop receives less than the charger’s rating, since the hub keeps some for its ports. No charger is included.
Are the card slots fast enough for a camera workflow?
Yes. Both SD and microSD are UHS-II at up to 312 MB/s, which is faster than most laptop-built-in readers.
What is the difference between the two USB-A ports?
One is USB 3.2 Gen 2 at 10 Gbps for drives; the other is 5 Gbps for a receiver, keyboard or flash drive. Use the 10 Gbps one and the USB-C ports for storage.
Singular Expert Insight
For a Windows or ChromeOS laptop the HD4006GL does what a compact dock does, at hub weight: two 4K 60Hz screens, UHS-II cards, Ethernet and up to 125 W of charging with the right PD 3.1 charger. Mac users get a very good single-monitor hub; for two extended screens on a Mac they need a DisplayLink dock from our docking stations. Pair it with one of our external SSDs on the 10 Gbps ports and the card slots will not be the bottleneck. Not sure your computer, monitor or cable fits? Tell us the model and we check it before you order.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

A Windows laptop or Chromebook needs two 4K 60Hz monitors, fast SD/microSD, Ethernet and charging through your own PD charger, all in a pocketable hub.

Skip it if

You are on a Mac and need two extended displays, you want a charger included, or you need to know the host cable length before buying. Hyper publishes none.

Also consider

A DisplayLink dock for dual Mac displays; the Club 3D CSV-1599 or j5create JCD403 if one 8K-capable output and 2.5 GbE matter more than two HDMI ports.
