i-tec Universal Charging Metal HUB 2× USB-C + 2× USB-A + Power Delivery 85 W (CAHUBMETAL2A2CPD)

85 W PD2× USB-C + 2× USB-A5 GbpsAluminium

The i-tec CAHUBMETAL2A2CPD is a compact aluminium USB hub that adds two USB-C and two USB-A 5 Gbps ports to a laptop or tablet while passing up to 85 W of Power Delivery through to it. Plug your USB-C charger (up to 100 W input) into the dedicated PD port and the hub charges the notebook and powers your accessories over one connection.

A 20 cm integrated USB-C cable with a USB-C-to-USB-A adapter lets the hub work on USB-C, USB4 and Thunderbolt ports as well as classic USB-A ports; laptop charging, of course, needs a USB-C port with Power Delivery. At 106 × 30 × 21 mm and 55 g it slips easily into a pocket or laptop bag.

Compatibility note: The USB-C charger is not included. Laptop charging works only when the hub is connected to a USB-C/USB4/Thunderbolt port that supports Power Delivery; via the USB-A adapter the hub works for data only.

Key Features

Charge while you connect
Up to 85 W reaches the laptop from a USB-C charger of up to 100 W, so a single USB-C port handles both charging and peripherals.

Mixed USB-C and USB-A ports
Two USB-C and two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports cover modern USB-C drives and phones as well as legacy mice, keyboards and flash drives.

USB-C or USB-A host
The attached USB-A adapter means the same hub also works with desktop PCs and older laptops without USB-C (data only).

Frequently Asked Questions

Why 85 W and not the full 100 W of my charger?
The hub keeps part of the incoming power for its own electronics and the connected USB devices. With a 100 W charger, up to 85 W is passed to the laptop — enough for most ultrabooks and 14–15 inch business notebooks.
Can I use it on an iPad or Android tablet?
Yes. It works with USB-C iPads and Android tablets for USB drives, keyboards and similar accessories, and can charge the tablet through the PD port.
What is the difference between the CAHUBMETAL2A2CPD and the i-tec CAHUBMETAL7?
The CAHUBMETAL2A2CPD has four ports and charges the laptop (85 W PD). The CAHUBMETAL7 has seven ports with 7.5 W accessory charging but cannot charge the laptop.
Singular Expert Insight
The pick when a thin laptop has just one or two USB-C ports: you keep charging and still get four USB ports. It is small enough to live in the bag. Users who also need HDMI or Ethernet should step up to a nano dock such as the i-tec C31NANOLANPD100 from our docking stations.
✓ Buy it if you want extra USB ports without giving up your laptop’s only USB-C charging port.
✕ Skip it if your laptop draws more than 85 W or you need a video output.
→ Also consider i-tec CAHUBMETAL7 (7 ports, no laptop charging) or i-tec C31NANOLANPD100 (HDMI + LAN + 100 W charger).
