The host USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode — the video standard needed to output a display; USB4 and Thunderbolt 3/4/5 ports qualify. Maximum dual-monitor resolution depends on your host's DisplayPort version: DP 1.2 gives 2x 1080p@60Hz, DP 1.4 gives 2x 1440p@60Hz, and DP 1.4 with DSC gives 2x 4K@60Hz. On Windows you can extend across both screens (MST); macOS does not support MST, so both monitors mirror the same image.
