If you work across two machines — a work laptop and a personal one, or a desktop and a notebook — the CAKVMHUB2A2C stops you unplugging things. Connect both computers with the two supplied 100 cm cables, plug your keyboard, mouse, drive and headset dongle into the hub’s four ports, and a button on the front hands all four to whichever machine you are using. All four ports run USB 3.2 Gen 1 at up to 5 Gbps. It is 102 mm across, weighs 65 g and needs no drivers on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Chrome OS or iPadOS.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Read the name carefully: despite “KVM”, there is no video. This unit has no HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA connector and does not switch monitors — it shares USB peripherals between two computers, nothing more. Switching is by a physical button on the unit; i-tec publishes no keyboard shortcut, so the hub has to sit within reach. It handles exactly two hosts, and each one uses a USB port on that machine. The USB-C socket is a power inlet up to 15 W, not a data port, and the adapter is not included — without it four peripherals share a bus-powered budget. There is no Power Delivery, so neither computer is charged.

i-tec calls this a hub and files it with its hubs, and that is the right way to think about it: it is a peripheral-sharing switch, not a KVM in the traditional sense, because the V is missing. Judged as what it is, it solves a real daily annoyance — two machines on one desk and one good keyboard between them — and it does so with both cables in the box, which is not always the case at this price. Within our USB hub range it is the only unit that handles two hosts at all.
