The INCA IUSB-03TX is a USB-A hub that turns one USB 3.0 socket into three USB 3.0 ports and a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port, in a slim aluminium housing on a short attached cable. INCA sells it as a USB to USB + RJ45 hub at 10/100/1000 Mbps, with current, voltage and short-circuit protection, and it is the simple fix for a laptop that has lost its network port and runs out of USB sockets.
Compatibility — check before buying:
USB-A plug, not USB-C. It plugs into a rectangular USB-A socket — ideally a blue USB 3.0 one; in a USB 2.0 socket everything works much more slowly. For a laptop with only USB-C ports, INCA’s ITPC-7T hub is the equivalent. One link, shared: the three USB ports and the Ethernet port share the single USB 3.0 connection to the laptop, so copying to two drives while downloading at full Gigabit speed will slow each down. No power input: the hub runs from the laptop’s port, so several power-hungry drives at once may need a powered hub. No video — there is no HDMI. Two things to be clear on. It is USB-A — for a USB-C-only laptop, INCA’s ITPC-7T or ITPC-10TX do the same job and add HDMI. And the ports share one USB 3.0 link, which is fine for a desk of peripherals but not for heavy drive-to-drive copying while streaming at full Gigabit speed.
