The Intellinet 740586 is a 0.25 m yellow S/FTP patch cable that combines 600 MHz Cat 7 raw cable with Cat 6A RJ45 plugs for short, fully shielded 10 Gigabit patching. Part number 740586 uses 100 % copper AWG 26 conductors, an LSZH jacket and gold-plated snagless plugs, backed by Intellinet's lifetime warranty. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility note: There is no ratified Cat 7 RJ45 plug, so Intellinet fits Cat 6A plugs — the link therefore performs as Cat 6A (500 MHz, 10 Gbps), not as a Cat 7 channel. The shield only helps if the switch and panel ports are shielded and earthed. No PoE class is published.

Is the Intellinet 740586 a real Cat 7 cable?
The raw cable is Cat 7 (600 MHz S/FTP), but the plugs are Cat 6A because no Cat 7 RJ45 plug is standardised. In practice it is a very well-shielded Cat 6A patch cord supporting 10 Gbps.
Will it work with my existing Cat 6 or Cat 5e equipment?
Yes. It is fully backward compatible with Cat 6A, 6, 5e and 5 devices and ports, wired to T568A or T568B.
Do I need shielded ports for the S/FTP shield?
To gain the shielding benefit, the panel and switch ports should be shielded and earthed. On unshielded ports the cord still works normally as a data cable.
