The Intellinet 524179 (IPI-15) is a single-port PoE injector that adds IEEE 802.3af power — 48 V DC, up to 15.4 W — to a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet link. It is a low-cost way to run one IP phone, basic IP camera or small access point from a switch without PoE.

The power supply is internal and connects to the mains with a power cable. Power is applied only after an 802.3af device is detected, with protection against shorts, overload above 450 mA and over-voltage above 52 V. Three LEDs show AC power, channel power and channel alarm.

Before you order: This injector is Fast Ethernet only: a Gigabit device behind it will link at 100 Mbps. It is 802.3af (15.4 W), so PoE+ devices such as Wi-Fi 6 access points will not run reliably.

  • 100 Mbps is plenty for IP phones and most single-stream cameras.
