Intellinet Fiber Optic Patch Cable OM3 LC/UPC to ST/UPC Duplex Multimode 50/125 LSZH 3.0mm 1m Aqua
Intellinet OM3 LC to ST Duplex Fibre Patch Cord — 1 m
The Intellinet 751117 is a 1 m duplex OM3 multimode fibre patch cord with LC on one end and ST on the other, for connecting multimode SR/SX transceivers, switches, media converters and patch panels. OM3 is laser-optimised 50/125 µm multimode for 850 nm short-reach optics (SR/SX transceivers) in the server room and between racks — the standard choice for 1G and 10G multimode links.
Both ends: LC — the small latching connector used by SFP, SFP+ and SFP28 transceivers and most modern patch panels; and ST — the round bayonet (twist-lock) connector found on legacy multimode panels and older industrial equipment.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Intellinet OM3 multimode duplex fibre patch cable, LC to ST, 1 m (supplied in a polybag)
What It Means in Practice
- Duplex means two fibres side by side, one transmit and one receive. The cord crosses Tx to Rx for you; if a link stays dark after patching, swap the two connectors on one end — it is the most common fibre patching mistake.
- 1 m is the right length inside the same rack — switch to patch panel or to the device next to it. Order the shortest length that reaches without tension — excess fibre has to be coiled in the cable manager.
- Route the cord with gentle bends and keep it away from sharp edges and door hinges; fibre loses light when bent too tightly.
- LSZH jacket — low smoke, zero halogen — the expected choice for offices, server rooms and public buildings.
- Keep the dust caps on until the moment you plug in. A dirty ferrule is the number one cause of high loss; clean the end faces if the ports have been left open.
What Will Not Work
- Singlemode optics (LR, LX, ER, BiDi) — they need a 9/125 µm singlemode (OS2) cord; multimode fibre does not substitute.
- Patching into an existing 62.5/125 µm (OM1) installation — core sizes must match end to end.
- Ports with SC, MTP/MPO, E2000 connectors — this cord terminates in LC and ST only.
- Green APC (8° angled) ports, as found on many FTTH/GPON terminals — this cord is UPC; you need an APC cord there.
- Copper RJ45 ports — fibre needs an SFP/fibre port or a media converter on each side.
