Intellinet SC/UPC–SC/UPC Fibre Optic Patch Cable OS2 Singlemode 9/125 Duplex 1 m LSZH Yellow

The Intellinet 470605 is a 1 m duplex OS2 singlemode fibre optic patch cable (9/125 µm) with SC/UPC connectors on one end and SC/UPC on the other, for linking SC-terminated patch panels, media converters and older switches.

It uses a 3.0 mm yellow LSZH jacket over singlemode fibre, ceramic ferrules and UPC polish. Intellinet specifies insertion loss of up to 0.25 dB and return loss of at least 55 dB, and positions this cable for 10G Ethernet and beyond. It comes in a polybag and carries Intellinet's Lifetime Warranty.

• Connect singlemode optics (LX/LR class, 1310/1550 nm) with SC duplex ports to another SC duplex port over 1 m.
• Duplex = two fibres (transmit and receive). If the link stays down, swap the two connectors on one side; crossed polarity is the most common cause.
• The 3.0 mm jacket is sturdier than 2 mm patch cords — a good fit for patching that gets handled often, at the cost of more bulk in dense racks.
• Intellinet allows a 30 mm bend radius; route it in smooth curves through cable managers.
• Keep the dust caps on until the moment you plug in, and never look into a connected fibre end — singlemode and multimode transmitters use invisible infrared light.
