Intellinet 318976 Cat 5e U/UTP Patch Cable, 2 m Grey

Cat 5e U/UTP2 m · Grey350 MHz · 1 GbpsPVC jacket

The Intellinet 318976 is a 2 m grey Cat 5e U/UTP patch cable with RJ45 plugs on both ends, built for desk-to-wall-outlet and room-level connections. It is certified up to 350 MHz — well above the 100 MHz Cat 5e requirement — which gives Gigabit Ethernet generous headroom, and snagless boots protect the latches when you pull it through furniture or cable trays. Part number 318976 (EAN 0766623318976) identifies this exact length and colour, so you can reorder identical cords when you extend a cabinet or colour-code a new VLAN.

Before you buy
This is a CCA (copper-clad aluminium), unshielded Cat 5e cord with a PVC jacket: ideal for everyday Gigabit desk and office connections, but not for PoE devices, 10 GbE ports or sites that require halogen-free cable.

Key Features

Gigabit with 350 MHz headroom
Certified to 350 MHz, far above the Cat 5e minimum, for stable 10/100/1000BASE-T links.

Snagless booted plugs
Moulded boots stop the RJ45 latch from catching and breaking when the cable is pulled through desks or trays.

Lifetime warranty
Intellinet backs its patch cords with a limited lifetime warranty — a low-risk choice for bulk office rollouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 318976 work with my switch, router or patch panel?
Yes. It is a standard RJ45-to-RJ45 Cat 5e patch cord wired straight-through (T568B), so it connects any Ethernet port to any other — switches, routers, NAS units, access points, patch panels and PCs. Modern ports auto-negotiate speed and handle crossover automatically.
Is a 2 m cable long enough?
2 m suits a desk-to-wall-outlet run, a PC or printer next to a switch, or patching inside a larger rack. For patch-panel-to-switch jumpers in the same cabinet, 0.25–0.5 m keeps things tidier; for across-the-room runs choose 3–5 m.
What is the difference between the 318976 and a solid-copper Cat 6 cord?
The 318976 is Cat 5e with CCA conductors — the budget option for Gigabit data. A solid-copper Cat 6 or Cat 6A cord (e.g. Intellinet Cat 6 S/FTP) supports PoE, 250–500 MHz and, for Cat 6A, 10 Gbps; choose it for PoE devices or future multi-gig ports.
Can I use the 318976 for PoE cameras or access points?
We do not recommend it. CCA conductors have higher resistance than copper and heat up under PoE current. For PoE devices use a 100 % copper Cat 6/6A cord.
Singular Expert Insight
The 318976 is a sensible bulk buy for connecting office PCs, printers and phones at Gigabit speed: grey, snagless and covered by a lifetime warranty. Because it is CCA and unshielded, we steer PoE and multi-gig installs to solid-copper Cat 6A instead. Browse the full range of network cables for other lengths and colours, or pair it with our network switches.

Buyer's Guide

Buy it if
You need affordable Gigabit patch cords for PCs, printers and home/office switches.
Skip it if
You power devices over PoE, need 2.5/10 GbE, or must use halogen-free LSZH cable.
Also consider
Intellinet 1 m Cat 6 S/FTP LSOH (copper, shielded) or a Cat 6A copper cord for 10 GbE.
