Intellinet Gigabit High-Power PoE+ Extender — push PoE and Gigabit data another 100 m
802.3at/af in & outGigabit · +100 mUp to 24.6W at deviceChain up to 5
The Intellinet Gigabit High-Power PoE+ Extender Repeater (560962) is a small inline repeater powered by PoE that adds another 100 m of Gigabit Ethernet and PoE to a single 802.3af/at device, such as an IP camera, access point or VoIP phone. It is meant for the one device that sits just beyond the 100 m Ethernet limit and has no mains power nearby.
It sits in the middle of the cable run: one RJ45 PoE IN from your PoE switch or injector, one RJ45 PoE OUT to the device. Up to five extenders can be daisy-chained, with less power left for the device at every step.
Before you order: Power at the end device drops with each extender in the chain: 24.6 W with one unit, 20 W with two, 16.2 W with three, 12.5 W with four and 8.6 W with five. Intellinet also states it is not compatible with its 16-Port Fast Ethernet PoE+ Switch 560849.
What's in the Box
- Intellinet Gigabit High-Power PoE+ Extender Repeater (560962)
- Instructions
- No power supply and no network cables
What It Means in Practice
- One extender on an 802.3at (PoE+) port gives up to 24.6 W to the device at up to 200 m from the switch — enough for most PoE+ access points and fixed cameras.
- For an 802.3af device (up to 12.95 W at the device), you can chain up to four units and still have power to spare — 500 m in total.
- The extender needs no mains power: it is fed by the same PoE cable it repeats.
- Non-PoE devices still get data on the output, without power.
What Will Not Work
- It does not accept or pass 802.3bt (Ultra PoE) power — devices that need more than 24.6 W will not run.
- It cannot be powered by its own adapter; there is no DC input.
- It does not raise a 10/100 link to Gigabit, and it does not carry 2.5G/10G.
- Not compatible with Intellinet switch 560849, per the manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a PoE+ switch, or is basic PoE enough?
It works from 802.3af and 802.3at sources. Use an 802.3at (PoE+) port to get the published 24.6 W at the device; an 802.3af source leaves much less.
Where should it be placed?
Anywhere along the run as long as each segment is no longer than 100 m — typically in a ceiling void, junction box or small cabinet at the 100 m mark.
Why does power drop with every extender?
Each unit uses around 4 W of the budget itself, so the device at the end receives less as you add extenders. Check your device datasheet against the table.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The simple fix when one PoE+
access point or camera sits 150–200 m from the switch and there is no socket nearby. For a single device it is cheaper and quicker than a fibre link; for several devices at the far end, a multi-port extender is the better choice.
✓ Buy it if you need to reach one 802.3af/at device just beyond 100 m and have a PoE+ port at the source.
✕ Skip it if the device needs more than 24.6 W, or you need to power several devices at the far end.
→ Also consider Intellinet 2-Port or 4-Port Gigabit Ultra PoE Extender (561600 / 561617) for several devices from one 802.3bt cable.
