Intellinet 523882 — Gigabit RJ-45 Copper SFP
1000BASE-T10/100/1000RJ-45Cisco GLC-T coded
The Intellinet 523882 is a copper SFP transceiver that turns an SFP slot into an RJ-45 port with 10/100/1000 Mbps auto-sensing, reaching up to 100 m. Intellinet programs it as an equivalent of the Cisco GLC-T, so Cisco switches accept it, and it also fits Intellinet switches and other MSA-compliant SFP ports. In practice, a copper module is the quickest way to connect a nearby device that only has an RJ-45 port, without buying a media converter. Use fibre for anything beyond the copper reach shown in the table.
Compatibility — check before buying:
It is an SFP (1G) module — in an SFP+ port it still runs at 1 Gbps, not 10G; Intellinet’s 508179 is the 10G copper SFP+. It is Cisco-coded (GLC-T), so brands that insist on their own coding may refuse it. Whether 10/100 works also depends on the host port. Not sure? Send us your device model and the cable run and we check it before you order.
Best For
✓ Adding RJ-45 ports to a fibre switch
✓ Cisco switches that take GLC-T
✓ Servers, printers or NAS next to the switch
✓ 10/100 devices on a Gigabit network
✓ Short copper links up to 100 m
✓ Spare copper SFPs
Key Features
10/100/1000 auto-sensing
Negotiates 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps with Auto MDI/MDI-X, so older devices link as well as Gigabit ones.
Copper instead of fibre
Turns an SFP or SFP+ cage into an RJ-45 port, so the switch can reach a server, NAS, camera recorder or other device over twisted-pair cable. Check the cable grade and reach in the table before you plan the run.
Hot-swappable
Modules plug into a live port without shutting the switch down, so a link can be added or replaced during working hours. Seat it until it clicks and use the latch to remove it.
Plan both ends together
A link only comes up when both ends use the same standard, speed and media. Order the far-end module, the cable and any spares in one go and the link works on day one.

Singular Expert Insight
The 523882 is the copper SFP we suggest when a Cisco or MSA switch needs an RJ-45 port for a device that may still run at 10/100. Keep the run under 100 m on Cat5e or better. Every order is backed by Singular’s local support in Cyprus — if a link will not come up, send us the port status and we help you find out whether it is the module, the cable or the configuration. Browse all transceivers and DAC cables or the switches they plug into.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You need a 10/100/1000 RJ-45 port from an SFP slot on a Cisco, Intellinet or MSA switch.
Skip it if
You need 10G copper (508179), or your switch checks for its own brand of optics.
