Inter-Tech Mini-ITX PSU 200W NAS — DC/DC power supply with 12V DC input for compact PCs and NAS builds

The Inter-Tech Mini-ITX PSU 200W NAS (88882190) is a compact DC/DC power supply that plugs straight onto the motherboard's 24-pin ATX connector and turns a single 12V DC input into all the ATX voltages, for Mini-ITX PCs, home NAS builds, small servers and fanless systems where a conventional ATX or SFX PSU does not fit.
The board measures only 42 x 65 x 25 mm and weighs 110 g. Power comes from an external 12V adapter through a 5.5 x 2.5 mm DC socket on a short cable that mounts in the case wall with its own nut. The external adapter is not included and must be chosen to match your system's power draw.
Before you order: No power adapter is included. You need a regulated 12V DC adapter with a 5.5 x 2.5 mm plug and enough wattage for your system (up to 200W). The 12V rail is rated at 10A, so high-power CPUs and graphics cards that draw most of their power from 12V are not a good match.
What's in the Box
- Inter-Tech Mini-ITX PSU 200W NAS DC/DC board with 24-pin ATX connector
- Attached cable set: 4+4-pin CPU, 6+2-pin PCIe, 4x SATA, 2x 4-pin Molex
- DC input cable with 5.5 x 2.5 mm socket and mounting nut for the case wall
- No external 12V power adapter — sold separately
What It Means in Practice
- The PSU sits directly on the motherboard, so a Mini-ITX or NAS case needs no PSU bay — ideal for compact, quiet and fanless builds.
- Four SATA and two Molex connectors are enough for a small NAS with several 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives, as long as the total draw stays within the 12V adapter and rail limits.
- The 4+4-pin CPU connector and the 6+2-pin PCIe connector cover boards that need an EPS feed and a low-power expansion card.
- OVP, OPP and UVP protection shut the unit down on over-voltage, over-power or under-voltage instead of passing faults to your components.
- Your real power budget is set by the external adapter: a 120W adapter means a 120W system, even though the board is rated up to 200W.
What Will Not Work
- It will not run from mains power on its own — an external 12V DC adapter is always required and is not supplied.
- It will not power high-end graphics cards or high-TDP desktop CPUs: the 12V rail is rated at 10A.
- It is not a standard ATX, SFX or TFX unit and will not fit a conventional PSU bay.
- Adapters with a different plug size than 5.5 x 2.5 mm, or with a voltage other than 12V DC, must not be used.
Key Features
Direct-plug DC/DC design
Plugs straight onto the 24-pin ATX header and converts a single 12V DC input into the 3.3V, 5V, 5VSB, 12V and -12V outputs a PC needs.
Full connector set
24-pin ATX, 4+4-pin CPU, 6+2-pin PCIe, four SATA and two 4-pin Molex connectors for drives and peripherals.
Protection circuits
Over-voltage (OVP), over-power (OPP) and under-voltage (UVP) protection.
Tiny footprint
42 x 65 x 25 mm and 110 g, with a case-wall DC socket mounted by nut for a clean installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which power adapter do I need?
A regulated 12V DC adapter with a 5.5 x 2.5 mm plug, sized to your system: add up CPU, drives and boards, then allow some headroom. The PSU itself is rated up to 200W.
Can it power a NAS with four hard drives?
Usually yes for typical 3.5-inch drives with a low-power board, but drives draw a spike at spin-up. Send us the board and drive models and we will check the power budget.
Can I use it with a dedicated graphics card?
Only a low-power card. The 12V rail is rated at 10A, which leaves little room once the CPU is fed, so gaming GPUs are out of scope.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
DC/DC boards like this one are the cleanest way to power a compact Mini-ITX PC or a home NAS without a PSU bay or fan noise. The point that decides success is the external 12V adapter: size it to your real load, use a quality regulated unit and stay well inside the 10A 12V rail. If your build needs more 12V power or a full graphics card, a conventional unit from our
PC power supplies range is the safer route.
✓ Buy it if you are building a Mini-ITX PC, a home NAS or a small fanless system and want a tiny PSU fed by an external 12V adapter.
✕ Skip it if you need power for a gaming graphics card or a high-TDP desktop CPU, or your case has a standard ATX/SFX PSU bay.
→ Also consider a standard SFX or ATX power supply for higher-power builds, and a regulated 12V DC adapter of suitable wattage for this unit.
