The Jabra Engage 50 II is a wired stereo headset designed for contact centres and anyone who spends the day on back-to-back calls. It takes a three-microphone MEMS array rather than the usual single boom mic, which is what lets it separate your voice from the person talking two desks away. There is no battery and nothing to charge: it draws power over the USB-A connection and it is ready the moment the shift starts. Article 5099-299-2219 is the UC build, stereo, and it ships with the Engage 50 II Link — the in-line controller that carries every call button, because the headset itself has none.
Compatibility — check before buying:
All call control lives on the Engage 50 II Link, not on the headset. Jabra states plainly that the headset has no call controls; volume, mute, hold and the busylight switch are on the in-line unit. A cheaper Engage 50 II article number that omits the Link leaves you controlling calls from the softphone window only. The connector is USB-A and cannot be changed later. This is the UC build. It is the UC variant — Teams runs on it as ordinary software, but the Teams-certified button behaviour belongs to the MS article number. There is no active noise cancellation here — the noise cancelling is on the microphone side, for the person you are calling.
