The Jabra Evolve2 40 SE Mono, order code 24189-889-889, is a wired USB-C office headset with no battery and nothing to pair — you plug it in and it works, which is exactly why it ends up on so many shared and hot-desk positions. It carries the same 40 mm speakers and the same three-microphone array as the rest of the Evolve2 40 line, adds a busylight that turns red automatically on a call, and this particular code is the extended cord build for desks where the computer sits further away than usual. At 113 g with the cable it stays comfortable through a full day.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This code is USB-C only and the cable is fixed, not detachable — there is no adapter in the box, so a USB-A desktop needs the 24189-889-999 code instead. It is also the UC build: it works perfectly well in Microsoft Teams but carries no Teams certification and no Teams button, which is the -899-xxx series. And the most common misread on this product: the Evolve2 40 SE has no active noise cancellation. Jabra’s marketing about noise refers to the passive design of the earcups and to what the microphones do for the far end — nothing is cancelled electronically in your own ears. If your staff need quiet, the Evolve2 55 is the model to look at.

Does the Evolve2 40 SE have active noise cancellation?
No. Jabra publishes a noise-isolating design — angled earcups and isolating foam cushions — and a three-microphone array that cleans up the outgoing call. Nothing is cancelled electronically for the wearer. The Evolve2 55, 75 and 85 are the models with real ANC.
What does the SE stand for?
Jabra does not publish an expansion of it anywhere, so we will not invent one. What the SE line does add over the earlier Evolve2 40 is more connector choice, including the USB-C/A dual-connector codes and the extended cord codes like this one. The published audio specifications are the same.
How long is the extended cord?
Jabra does not publish a length for either the standard or the extended cord on this model, in the tech specification sheets or the manual. What we can tell you is that the extended code exists precisely for desks where the standard cable is short. Tell us your desk layout and we will measure a unit for you before you order a floor.
Can I use it with a desk phone or a mobile?
No. This is a fixed USB-C headset with no Bluetooth, no 3.5 mm jack and no Quick Disconnect. It is a computer headset. If a desk phone has to be covered too, tell us the model and we will point you at a DECT headset with a base.
