Jabra PanaCast 40 VBS — Zoom Rooms video bar for small meeting rooms
Zoom RoomsAndroid all-in-one180° panoramic cameraControl IP included
The Jabra PanaCast 40 VBS Zoom Room (8722-231) is an all-in-one Android video bar that runs Zoom Rooms on the device itself, with a 180° dual-camera panoramic view, for huddle and small meeting rooms up to 4.5 x 4.5 m.
Because the meeting software runs on the bar, the room needs no dedicated PC: mount the bar, connect the display over HDMI, place the included Jabra Control IP touch controller on the table and the room is ready to host Zoom meetings.
Before you order: This is the Zoom Rooms version. Microsoft Teams Rooms is a different part number (8721-231) and the UC version is 8720-231 — the hardware looks identical, so check the platform your company is licensed for before ordering.
What's in the Box
- Jabra PanaCast 40 VBS video bar
- Jabra Control IP touch controller
- USB-C to USB-C cable (3 m)
- Power supply with regional power cable
- Wall mount
- Privacy cover
- HDMI cable (1.83 m)
What It Means in Practice
- One device replaces the camera, microphones, speaker and room PC for a small room — fewer boxes to install, update and support.
- The 180° panoramic view (up to 3840 x 1080) sees everyone around a small table, even people sitting right next to the screen.
- AI framing — Virtual Director, Dynamic Composition and Intelligent Zoom — keeps active speakers and the whole group in view without anyone touching a remote.
- Six beamforming microphones with noise and echo cancellation cover the room; one speaker handles playback.
- Share content with the HDMI input or wirelessly with Apple AirPlay (supported on Zoom).
- The Control IP is powered over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af): you need a PoE switch port or a PoE injector at the table.
What Will Not Work
- It will not run Microsoft Teams Rooms — that needs the MS Teams Room version (8721-231).
- Microsoft TeamsCast wireless sharing is Teams-only and does not apply to this Zoom version.
- No PoE injector is in the box: the Control IP needs an 802.3af PoE port or the separate Jabra PoE Injector Kit (14402-21).
- Not sized for larger rooms: Jabra recommends it for rooms up to 4.5 x 4.5 m.
- The Jabra PanaCast SpeakerMic (8900-100) is published as an accessory for the PanaCast 55 VBS, not the 40 VBS.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The PanaCast 40 VBS makes most sense when a small room should behave like an appliance: one bar, one controller, Zoom Rooms, nothing else to maintain. Plan the network before installation — the bar needs a wired or Wi-Fi connection and the Control IP needs PoE, which a PoE switch at the table or in the cabinet solves cleanly. For rooms larger than 4.5 x 4.5 m, look at a bigger PanaCast bar instead of stretching this one.
✓ Buy it if you run Zoom Rooms and want a PC-free, single-bar setup for a huddle or small meeting room.
✕ Skip it if your company is on Microsoft Teams Rooms, the room is larger than 4.5 x 4.5 m, or you need to add a table SpeakerMic.
→ Also consider the PanaCast 40 VBS MS Teams Room (8721-231) for Teams, or a PanaCast 50/55 VBS for medium rooms.
