Kensington H1000 — USB-C on-ear headset for calls and meetings
USB-C plug and play40 mm driversNoise-cancelling micBusy light
The Kensington H1000 (part K83450WW) is a wired USB-C on-ear headset with 40 mm drivers and a directional noise-cancelling microphone, aimed at hybrid and office workers who run their day on Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet.
It is plug-and-play on Windows, macOS and ChromeOS: connect the USB-C plug and the computer sees a headset with microphone, no software needed. A 270° rotating boom lets you wear the mic on either side, and a red busy light on the mic tells colleagues when you are on a call.
Before you order: USB-C only. Kensington does not list a USB-A adapter for the H1000 — for a desktop with only USB-A ports, add a USB-C to USB-A adapter or a dock.
What's in the Box
- Kensington H1000 headset with attached 1.8 m nylon-braided USB-C cable and inline controls
- Kensington does not publish a fuller box list — ask us if you need it confirmed before ordering
What It Means in Practice
- Plug into the USB-C port of a laptop, tablet-style PC or dock and start the call — no drivers to install.
- The inline control gives you volume, play/pause, mute and busy; an LED shows when the mic is muted.
- Sidetone lets you hear your own voice slightly in the earpiece, so you do not speak louder than needed.
- The braided 1.8 m cable is tangle-free and long enough from a laptop on a stand to your chair.
What Will Not Work
- No Bluetooth — it is a corded headset only.
- No 3.5 mm plug for phones or desk phones.
- Kensington describes it as working with Teams, Zoom and Meet; it is not listed as formally certified for these platforms.
- No active noise cancellation on the ear cups — the noise-cancelling is for the microphone.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The H1000 is a straightforward choice when you want a USB-C headset with a real busy light and a noise-cancelling mic, without paying for certification you do not need. If your desk mixes USB-C laptops and USB-A peripherals, a dock keeps everything on one cable — see our docking stations.
✓ Buy it if you want a plug-and-play USB-C on-ear headset with noise-cancelling mic, inline controls and busy light.
✕ Skip it if you need Bluetooth, a 3.5 mm plug or formal Teams certification.
→ Also consider a Teams-certified headset if your IT policy requires it.
