The Kensington CH1000 (part number K39124EU) is a simple bus-powered hub that turns one USB-C port into two USB-A and two USB-C ports, all at USB 3.1 Gen 1 (5 Gbps). It needs no drivers or power supply, plugs in with its integrated reversible USB-C cable, and lets a thin laptop or tablet keep using older USB-A accessories alongside new USB-C ones. Kensington backs it with a 2-year limited warranty.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Host must be USB-C (captive cable). Kensington states the hub does not support Power Delivery: it will not charge the laptop, and the laptop’s USB-C port is occupied while it is connected. No video, no Ethernet, no fast charging. Being bus-powered, it suits keyboards, mice, sticks and SSDs rather than several spinning hard drives at once.

Is this the CH1000 with three USB-A ports?
No — that is the older K33995WW. The K39124EU is the revised CH1000 with two USB-A and two USB-C ports. Check the port mix you need before ordering.
Will my laptop still charge?
Not through this hub. Use a second USB-C port for the charger or choose a hub with Power Delivery pass-through such as the Club 3D CSV-1543.
Can it run an external hard drive?
A USB SSD or a single 2.5-inch drive normally works from bus power; two spinning drives at once may not. For that, choose a hub with its own adapter.
