Kensington W2000 — 1080p Auto Focus Webcam, Narrow Angle
1080p at 30 fps75° narrow viewePTZ with 2x zoomUSB-C adapter included
Kensington built the W2000 around a deliberately narrow 75 degree field of view. Where most webcams take in the whole room, this one frames one person and leaves the background out. It autofocuses, corrects the light automatically, has a lens cover built into the body and a noise-reducing omnidirectional microphone, and ships with a USB-A to USB-C adapter so it fits either kind of laptop.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The narrow view is the point of this camera and also its main limit: 75 degrees diagonal frames one person and will cut a second person out. If more than one of you sits in front of the screen, the W2050 Pro is the 93 degree model with two microphones instead of one. Note also that this camera has one microphone, not a stereo pair, and that the 2x zoom is an electronic crop of the same 1080p sensor — useful for reframing, not free extra reach. There is no Windows Hello and no infrared sensor. Kensington publishes no sensor specification, no weight, no cable length and no box list for this model, and the only inclusion it confirms is the USB-C adapter.
Best For
✓ Home offices where the background should stay out of frame
✓ Open-plan desks with people walking behind you
✓ Single-person calls on Teams, Zoom and Google Meet
✓ Shared workstations that get wiped with disinfectant — MIL-STD-810H tested
✓ Laptops with either USB-A or USB-C, thanks to the bundled adapter
Key Features
A view that keeps your room private
75 degrees diagonal is narrow by webcam standards. It puts you in frame and leaves the kitchen, the corridor and the whiteboard behind you out of it — no virtual background needed.
ePTZ instead of moving the camera
Electronic pan, tilt and 2x zoom let you set your framing from software once and leave the camera alone. Physical adjustment is there too: 37 degrees of tilt and full 360 degree rotation.
Autofocus with light correction
Kensington pairs automatic focus with automatic light correction, so a face against a bright window is exposed for rather than silhouetted.
Built to be cleaned
Kensington publishes MIL-STD-810H Method 504.3 contamination-by-fluids testing with disinfectants and no degradation — relevant to hot desks, clinics and shared rooms.

Singular Expert Insight
Almost every webcam maker competes on how wide the lens is, which is exactly backwards for someone working from a kitchen table. Kensington went the other way here, and for a single person on a call in a room they would rather not show, the narrow 75 degrees is genuinely the better product. The compromises are real though: one microphone rather than two, a digital crop instead of optical reach, and a spec sheet with a lot of blanks — Kensington publishes no sensor, no weight, no cable length. Buy it for the framing and the cleanability. If you need two faces in shot, or a stereo pair of microphones, step to the W2050 Pro. A USB hub helps if the desk is already full.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want one person tightly framed with the room left out, on a camera that fits USB-A and USB-C and survives being disinfected.
Skip it if
Skip it if two people must be in frame, if you want two microphones, or if you need Windows Hello.
Also consider
Kensington W2050 Pro for a 93 degree view and two microphones, or W1050 if fixed focus at a wider angle is enough.
