The KeySonic KSK-5031IN (28099) is a fully sealed silicone mini keyboard for places where a normal keyboard would not last a week: cold stores, wet production areas, workshops, ambulances, laboratories and clinical rooms. The entire surface is silicone and rated IP68 — dust-tight and protected against immersion — so it can be wiped with disinfectant or rinsed rather than thrown away. It packs 87 keys and an integrated 43 × 27 mm touchpad into a body just 220 × 110 mm and 10 mm high, weighing 248 g, so it fits on a trolley, a rack shelf or a control panel where a full keyboard simply will not go. KeySonic rates it for operation from −20 to +70 °C, which covers freezers as well as hot workshops. It plugs into any USB port and needs no drivers. This article number is the UK English layout in black.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Plug and play over USB, powered from the port, with the touchpad and keyboard both following standard HID — so it works on Windows, macOS and Linux without drivers. There is no numeric keypad and no backlight: this is a mini layout for control and data-entry tasks, not for writing documents. The silicone keys give a soft, damped keystroke with no click, which takes some getting used to and is not comfortable for all-day typing — choose it for the environment, not for the typing. It is wired; there is no wireless version of this article number. IP68 means it survives washing and immersion, but dry it before use and do not put it in a dishwasher or autoclave. Layout: UK English QWERTY has the tall Enter key, £ on Shift+3, and @ and " swapped compared with US layout. Letters and numbers are identical to US; if you need the US key shapes, ask us for the US International version.
