KeySonic KSK-6231INEL — IP68 Silicone Keyboard with Touchpad and Backlight, US International
IP68 sealedWorks with glovesBlue backlightAntimicrobial
The KeySonic KSK-6231INEL (28077) is a fully sealed silicone keyboard for places where an ordinary keyboard does not survive: laboratories, production lines, workshops, kitchens and clinical rooms. The whole surface is silicone-coated and rated IP68 — dust-tight and protected against permanent immersion — so it can be rinsed, wiped down and disinfected rather than replaced. An integrated touchpad with two mouse buttons replaces the mouse entirely and still works through rubber gloves, a blue backlight with two brightness levels makes it readable in a dark room, and the key markings are UV-resistant so they do not fade in sunlight. It is 10 mm thin, weighs 600 g, and plugs into any USB port. This part number is the US International layout in black. It is also available in white as KSK-6231INEL-WH.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Plug and play over USB 2.0 Type-A with a 1.8 m fixed cable, powered from the port. KeySonic lists Windows as the supported system; the touchpad and keyboard follow standard HID, so they work on macOS and Linux too. The keys use carbon contacts with plastic pestles rated at about 2 million strokes — robust for a sealed keyboard but well below a mechanical office board, so this is a keyboard for hostile environments rather than for a heavy typing desk. The silicone surface gives a soft, damped keystroke that takes some getting used to. Layout: US International QWERTY is the layout most people in Cyprus type on: wide Enter key, @ above 2. If your current keyboard is UK layout, the Enter key changes shape and a few symbols move, but letters and numbers are identical. There is no numeric keypad in the standard sense — the 98-key layout is compact.

✓ Working in rubber or nitrile gloves
✓ Outdoor or sunlit control positions — UV-resistant legends
Key Features
IP68 — wash it
Dust-tight and protected against permanent immersion: rinse it under a tap, wipe it with disinfectant, keep working. The silicone coating has an antimicrobial finish.
Touchpad instead of a mouse
A sealed 60 × 43 mm touchpad with two mouse buttons handles the cursor, so there is no second device to contaminate or lose. It responds through gloves.
Blue backlight, three status LEDs
On/off switch with two brightness levels, plus Num, Caps and Scroll Lock indicators — readable in a darkened lab or control room.
Built for the environment
−20 to +70 °C operation, up to 100% relative humidity, UV-resistant key markings and a 10 mm profile that wipes down flat.

Singular Expert Insight
This is the keyboard to specify when the room, not the user, is the problem — water, dust, chemicals or a disinfection routine. For a normal desk it is the wrong tool: the soft silicone keys and 2-million-stroke rating are the price of the sealing.
