KeySonic ACK-118BK — IP64 Silicone Numeric Keypad
IP64 ratedSiliconeRetractable cable76 g
Most numeric keypads die from a spilled drink. The ACK-118BK is built so that does not happen: the whole body is silicone, rated IP64 — dust tight and protected against splashing water from any direction. That is why these turn up in workshops, labs, clinics and kitchens rather than only on office desks. It has 18 keys including a quick calculator shortcut, uses carbon contacts with plastic pestles for an expected life of around one million strokes per key, and the USB cable is retractable at 0.7 m — it winds back into the body, so nothing dangles in a bag. It is 9.8 mm thin, weighs 76 g, works from 0 to +60 °C, and is plug and play with no driver. KeySonic publishes a 1-year limited hardware warranty.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Understand what IP64 does and does not cover. It means dust tight and protected against splashing water — you can wipe it down, and a knocked glass will not kill it. It does not mean submersible, so do not run it under a tap or leave it in standing liquid. Two other points: the silicone surface feels soft and slightly damped rather than crisp, which some people love and others do not — if you type numbers at speed on mechanical switches, this will feel slower. And the cable is 0.7 m retractable, which is deliberately short so it travels well; on a deep desk with the machine on the floor it will not reach, and you will need a USB extension. KeySonic lists the operating system as Windows, and publishes no macOS or Linux support, so we quote none. Power draw is 250 mA maximum at 5 V.
Best For
✓ Workshops, labs and clinics that get wiped down
✓ Kitchens, counters and reception desks
✓ Field and site work, at 76 g with a retractable cable
✓ Anyone who has already killed a keypad with a drink
✓ Windows machines
✓ Shared desks that need regular cleaning
Key Features
IP64, not just water resistant
A published rating: dust tight and protected against splashing water. It is the reason to buy this instead of any other keypad.
The cable winds back in
A retractable 0.7 m USB lead, so the keypad goes in a bag without a loose cable wrapped round it.
A million strokes per key
KeySonic publishes the figure and the mechanism — carbon contacts with plastic pestles — rather than claiming durability in the abstract.
9.8 mm and 76 g
Thin and light enough to sit in a laptop sleeve or a toolbox and be forgotten about until needed.

Singular Expert Insight
IP64 is the whole product. If your keypad lives anywhere a drink, dust or a disinfectant wipe can reach it, this is the one that survives, and the retractable cable means it travels without tangling. See our keyboard accessories and our keyboards.
