Kingston DataTraveler Duo 128 GB — USB-A and USB-C, Two Caps That Stay On
USB-A + USB-C128 GBDual moving caps5-year Kingston warranty
The Kingston DataTraveler Duo is a 128 GB USB 3.2 Gen 1 flash drive with a full-size USB-A plug at one end and a USB-C plug at the other. Both connectors are protected by moving caps that stay attached to the body, so there is nothing to lose. It measures 64 x 21.2 x 10.4 mm, weighs 10 g, and Kingston backs it with a five-year warranty and free technical support.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Our supplier data describes this as a USB-C drive. It is dual-ended — Kingston publishes the interface as USB Type-A and USB Type-C, and the USB-A half is half the reason to buy it. Two things to know before ordering. Kingston publishes no transfer speed for the DataTraveler Duo at any capacity — its datasheet speed row reads only USB 3.2 Gen 1, with no MB/s figure on the datasheet or the product page. Its own microDuo 3C G3, also dual-ended and also USB 3.2 Gen 1, is published at up to 200 MB/s read. If a stated speed matters to you, that is the drive to buy instead; if it does not, the Duo gives you a larger body that is easier to grip and caps on both ends. Second, Kingston lists Windows 11 and does not list Windows 10 for this model, and sets an unusually high macOS floor of 13.7.6 or later. The drive is plain USB mass storage with no drivers, so older systems mount it in practice, but that is what Kingston states. Note also that the Duo starts at 128 GB — there is no 64 GB version.
Best For
✓ Moving files between a USB-C phone or tablet and a USB-A computer
✓ Households and offices with a mix of older and newer machines
✓ Anyone who would otherwise carry a drive plus an adapter
✓ People who lose caps — both caps here stay attached to the body
✓ Handing a large file to someone whose laptop has only USB-C
✓ Buyers who want a five-year Kingston term on a dual-ended drive
Key Features
Two connectors, two attached caps
USB-A at one end and USB-C at the other, each covered by a moving cap that travels with the body. Kingston’s own phrase is that there is no cap to lose — on a dual-ended drive that is twice the usual benefit.
128 GB
Room for a substantial photo library or a stack of video files, and enough to move a whole project folder between a phone and a computer in one trip.
A body you can grip
At 64 x 21.2 x 10.4 mm and 10 g this is a full-size stick rather than a stub. It is easier to pull out of a tight port than the tiny dual-ended drives, at the cost of pocket space.
Five-year Kingston warranty
Kingston applies a five-year warranty with free technical support to its DataTraveler drives, uniformly across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas.

Singular Expert Insight
A dual-ended drive with a cap on each end that cannot be lost is a genuinely well-thought-out object, and at 128 GB in a body you can actually grip it suits people who find the tiny dual drives fiddly. The catch is that Kingston publishes no speed for it whatsoever, which is unusual for the brand and makes the Duo impossible to compare on paper — while its own microDuo 3C G3, same connectors and same USB generation, states 200 MB/s read. If numbers matter to you, buy that one. If what you want is a solid, well-capped drive with both plugs and five years of cover, this is it. Both are in our USB flash drives range. For a working library rather than carried files, an external SSD is the right class of product.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want one 128 GB drive that plugs into both a laptop and a USB-C phone, you value caps that stay attached, and a five-year Kingston term suits you.
Skip it if
You compare drives by published MB/s — Kingston states none here, and its microDuo 3C G3 publishes 200 MB/s read on the same kind of drive. Or you want something pocket-sized rather than full-length.
Also consider
Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3C G3 for a much smaller dual-ended drive with a published 200 MB/s read. Silicon Power Mobile C31 for the smallest dual-ended option. Kingston DataTraveler Kyson if you only need USB-A.
