Kingston ValueRAM 48GB (1x48GB) DDR5-5600 CL46 memory module
48GB (1x48GB) DDR55600MT/s CL46JEDEC (no XMP/EXPO)Bare PCB
The Kingston ValueRAM KVR56U46BD8-48 is a single 48GB DDR5 UDIMM desktop module rated at 5600 MT/s with CL46 latency, made for office, home and everyday creative PCs that want a safe, easy DDR5 upgrade.
It runs at its rated DDR5-5600 CL46-45-45 1.1V (JEDEC) straight out of the box — no BIOS profile to enable, no voltage above the DDR5 standard 1.1V. It is the plain, dependable way to add capacity to a DDR5 desktop.
ValueRAM is Kingston's standard-specification memory, built to the JEDEC standard for system builders, offices and IT departments.
What's in the Box
- 1 × 48GB DDR5 UDIMM module (bare PCB)
- Retail packaging only — no cables, screws or tools are needed or included
What It Means in Practice
- Install and boot — the board reads the JEDEC 5600 MT/s setting automatically. If your CPU officially supports a lower DDR5 speed, the module simply runs at that speed.
- One module runs single-channel. For dual-channel bandwidth, install two identical modules — or choose a matched two-module kit.
- 48GB modules use 24Gbit DRAM chips. Update the motherboard BIOS to a current version before installing — early BIOS releases did not support these densities.
- 48GB gives headroom over 32GB for gaming while streaming, large photo projects and virtual machines, without the cost of 64GB.
- At 5600 MT/s and below, the difference to faster kits in everyday work is small — capacity and stability matter more than raw speed.
- To confirm it is working, open Windows Task Manager → Performance → Memory: it should show 48GB and a speed of 5600 MT/s.
What Will Not Work
- DDR4 motherboards — DDR5 has a different key notch and will not physically fit a DDR4 slot.
- Laptops and mini PCs that use SO-DIMM — this is a full-size 288-pin desktop UDIMM.
- Servers and workstations that require ECC RDIMM or ECC UDIMM — this is non-ECC unbuffered memory.
- Mixing with other RAM — adding modules from a different kit, even the same model, is not guaranteed to run at the rated speed.
Key Features
Plug-and-play JEDEC
Runs at DDR5-5600 CL46 at the standard 1.1V with no BIOS tuning — the safe choice for business PCs and system builders.
Low profile
Module height 31.25 mm — fits under most CPU air coolers.
On-module power (PMIC)
Like all DDR5, voltage is regulated on the module itself rather than on the motherboard.
48GB in one slot
Adds 48GB using a single DIMM slot — useful on boards where slots are limited or already partly filled.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to change anything in the BIOS?
No. The module is programmed to the JEDEC DDR5-5600 standard and runs at that speed automatically on platforms that support it.
Should I buy one or two?
Two identical modules give dual-channel bandwidth, which most desktops need for full performance. One module is fine to add capacity next to an existing identical module.
What does CL46 at 5600 MT/s mean in practice?
First-word latency is CL × 2000 ÷ MT/s, so this module works out to about 16.4 ns. Lower is quicker to respond; higher MT/s moves more data per second. For comparison, DDR5-6000 CL30 is 10 ns and DDR5-8000 CL38 is 9.5 ns.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
ValueRAM is what we fit when a PC simply has to work: JEDEC timings, standard voltage, no profile to forget after a BIOS reset. Compare speeds, capacities and AMD/Intel profiles across the
rest of our DDR5 desktop memory before you decide.
✓ Buy it if you have any DDR5 desktop and want 48GB at 5600 MT/s.
✕ Skip it if you want an overclocking profile or RGB, or your system needs ECC or SO-DIMM.
→ Also consider a matched two-module kit for dual-channel, or an XMP/EXPO kit if you want higher speeds.
Not sure it fits? Send us your motherboard model (and CPU cooler, for tall modules) and we will check the memory list and clearance before you order.
