This is a DDR5 CUDIMM with an onboard clock driver, not a conventional DDR5 UDIMM. Native 6400MT/s CUDIMM operation requires a compatible platform. On supported legacy Intel DDR5 systems, CUDIMMs may operate in clock-driver bypass mode at 5600MT/s or lower depending on the processor, chipset, DIMM configuration and BIOS. No. KVR64A52BD8-64 is a Clocked Unbuffered DIMM, or CUDIMM. It has an onboard Clock Driver and is specifically rated for the JEDEC DDR5-6400 standard.
Does it require XMP to run at 6400MT/s?
No. Kingston programs the SPD for JEDEC DDR5-6400 CL52-52-52 operation at 1.1V. The host platform must still support native DDR5-6400 CUDIMM operation.
Can it work in an older DDR5 motherboard?
