Kingston FURY Beast 16GB (2x8GB) DDR5-5600 CL40 Black — entry DDR5 dual-channel kit with Intel XMP 3.0
16GB kit · 2x 8GBDDR5-5600 · CL40-40-40Intel XMP 3.0Black · 34.9 mm low profile
The Kingston FURY Beast KF556C40BBK2-16 is a 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR5 desktop memory kit rated at 5600 MT/s, CL40-40-40 and 1.25V with Intel XMP 3.0, in the black low-profile FURY Beast heat spreader — an affordable way to populate a new DDR5 desktop in dual-channel mode.
Each 8GB module is single rank (1Rx16) with on-module PMIC and on-die ECC. It boots at the JEDEC default of 4800 MT/s CL40 at 1.1V; XMP profile 1 in the BIOS sets 5600 MT/s CL40 at 1.25V, with 5200 and 4800 MT/s profiles as fallbacks.
Before you order: Desktop DDR5 UDIMM (288-pin) only — not for DDR4 boards or laptops. This is the XMP version for Intel; for AMD AM5 the EXPO kits are the safer pick. Send us your motherboard model and we will confirm.
What's in the Box
- 2x Kingston FURY Beast 8GB DDR5-5600 desktop memory modules (kit of 2)
- Kit warranty note from Kingston: modules are sold and covered as a matched pair
What It Means in Practice
- 16GB in dual channel is enough for office work, esports titles and general gaming at 1080p
- For heavy multitasking, modern AAA games or content creation, 32GB is the better long-term choice
- XMP 3.0 profile 1 = 5600 MT/s CL40 1.25V; 5200 and 4800 profiles as fallbacks
- 34.9 mm height clears most large air coolers
What Will Not Work
- DDR4 motherboards — DDR5 will not fit
- Laptops and mini PCs that use SO-DIMM
- It is not the EXPO version — on AMD AM5 an EXPO kit is the safer choice
- Kingston lists Plug N Play as not supported on FURY Beast DDR5 — XMP must be enabled for 5600 MT/s
- Kingston states the kit warranty is void if modules are sold or used separately

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 2x 8GB kit is the cheapest way to run a DDR5 desktop in dual channel, ideal for office and entry gaming builds. If the budget allows, the 2x 16GB version avoids an upgrade later. Compare kits in our memory (RAM) range.
✓ Buy it if you are building an Intel DDR5 desktop for office, esports or light gaming and want dual-channel 16GB.
✕ Skip it if you plan AAA gaming, streaming or content creation — get 32GB instead.
→ Also consider the KF556C40BBK2-32 (2x 16GB) for more headroom, or an EXPO kit for AMD AM5.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
