Kingston FURY Renegade 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-8000 CL38 memory kit

32GB (2x16GB) DDR58000MT/s CL38Intel XMP 3.0Silver/Black

The Kingston FURY Renegade KF580C38RSK2-32 is a 32GB UDIMM kit of 2 × 16GB DDR5 desktop memory rated at 8000 MT/s with CL38 latency, made for enthusiast Intel builds on top-tier motherboards chosen for high memory speeds.

Out of the box it starts at the safe default of DDR5-4800 CL40-39-39 1.1V; the rated 8000 MT/s CL38 at 1.45V is stored in the Intel XMP 3.0 profile, which you switch on once in the BIOS. The silver/black heat spreader stands 39.2 mm tall, low enough to clear most CPU air coolers.

FURY Renegade is Kingston's top performance line; this non-RGB version keeps the aggressive aluminium spreader without the light bar or RGB software.

Before you order: The speed profile is Intel XMP 3.0 only; Kingston does not list AMD EXPO for this part. 8000 MT/s depends on the motherboard and the CPU memory controller — check your board's memory QVL first.

What's in the Box

  • 2 × 16GB DDR5 UDIMM modules (Silver/Black)
  • Matched kit — the modules are tested together and should stay together
  • Retail packaging only — no cables, screws or tools are needed or included

What It Means in Practice

  • After installing, enter the BIOS and enable XMP; until then the kit runs at DDR5-4800 CL40-39-39 1.1V.
  • The first boot with a new DDR5 profile takes longer than usual — the board trains the memory. A black screen for a minute or two is normal; do not switch off.
  • Two modules give dual-channel operation: on a four-slot board, use the two slots the manual marks for two DIMMs (usually A2 and B2).
  • 32GB comfortably covers gaming, browsers with many tabs and everyday photo editing.
  • Above 6400 MT/s the gains are smaller and workload-dependent: they show most in CPU-bound high-refresh gaming and bandwidth-heavy tasks such as compression or simulation.
  • If your board is not stable at the top profile, select XMP profile 2 (DDR5-7600 CL38-46-46 1.45V) or 3 (DDR5-7200 CL38-44-44 1.45V) in the BIOS — no manual timing work needed.
  • To confirm it is working, open Windows Task Manager → Performance → Memory: it should show 32GB and a speed of 8000 MT/s once the profile is on.

What Will Not Work

  • DDR4 motherboards — DDR5 has a different key notch and will not physically fit a DDR4 slot.
  • Laptops and mini PCs that use SO-DIMM — this is a full-size 288-pin desktop UDIMM.
  • Servers and workstations that require ECC RDIMM or ECC UDIMM — this is non-ECC unbuffered memory.
  • Rated speed on AMD AM5 is not covered: Kingston lists Intel XMP 3.0 only for this part. For AMD, choose an EXPO kit.
  • Budget or older boards and CPUs whose memory controller cannot reach 8000 MT/s — the kit then runs at a lower XMP profile or manual settings.
  • Mixing with other RAM — adding modules from a different kit, even the same model, is not guaranteed to run at the rated speed.

Key Features

Intel XMP 3.0 profile
One BIOS setting loads 8000 MT/s CL38 at 1.45V. Three stored profiles let you step down if your board needs it.

Low profile
Module height 39.2 mm — fits under most CPU air coolers.

On-module power (PMIC)
Programmable PMIC — DDR5 regulates its own voltage on the module, giving cleaner power for stable speeds.

Matched 2-module kit
Both modules are tested together at the rated speed — the reason to buy one kit rather than separate modules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it run at 8000 MT/s as soon as I install it?
No. Every DDR5 kit starts at a safe default (DDR5-4800 CL40-39-39 1.1V). Enable XMP in the BIOS to load the rated 8000 MT/s CL38.
Can I use it on an AMD Ryzen AM5 system?
It is not validated for AMD. It will boot at the default speed, and some AM5 boards can apply an XMP profile, but 8000 MT/s is not guaranteed there. For AMD, an EXPO kit is the safer buy.
Can I add a second kit later?
You can, but two kits are not tested together. Four modules may need a lower speed than the rating. If you know you need 64GB, buy one kit of that size.
What does CL38 at 8000 MT/s mean in practice?
First-word latency is CL × 2000 ÷ MT/s, so this kit works out to about 9.5 ns. Lower is quicker to respond; higher MT/s moves more data per second. For comparison, DDR5-6000 CL30 is 10 ns and DDR5-8000 CL38 is 9.5 ns.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
8000 MT/s is near the top of what DDR5 UDIMMs reach; buy it for a board chosen for memory overclocking, not as a drop-in upgrade. Compare speeds, capacities and AMD/Intel profiles across the rest of our DDR5 desktop memory before you decide.
✓ Buy it if you have an Intel DDR5 desktop and want 32GB at 8000 MT/s.
✕ Skip it if your system is AMD AM5, a DDR4 board, a laptop or a board not on the speed list.
→ Also consider an AMD EXPO kit if you build on AM5; a lower-speed kit if your board is not on the QVL.
Not sure it fits? Send us your motherboard model (and CPU cooler, for tall modules) and we will check the memory list and clearance before you order.
