Kingston Server Premier KSM32RS4/32HCR — 32GB DDR4-3200 ECC Registered DIMM
32GB DDR4 RDIMM3200 MT/s · CL22ECC Registered · 1Rx4Hynix C-die
The Kingston Server Premier KSM32RS4/32HCR is a 32GB DDR4-3200 ECC Registered DIMM (RDIMM) with CL22 timings at 1.2V, built for rack and tower servers and workstations that take standard JEDEC DDR4 registered memory.
Server Premier is Kingston's industry-standard server line: modules are built on a controlled bill of materials with locked DRAM die revisions, and Kingston states the range is platform-validated with Intel and AMD and qualified with leading server and motherboard manufacturers. This part is a single rank 1Rx4 module on Hynix C-die 16Gbit DRAM with a Rambus register (RCD), and supports parity on the command/address bus. A single-rank module is the usual choice when you want one DIMM per channel at full 3200 MT/s speed.
Before you order: This is a DDR4 Registered (RDIMM) module. It does not work in desktops or servers that take unbuffered (UDIMM) memory, it should not be mixed with LRDIMMs, and it will not fit DDR3 or DDR5 boards. When adding to an existing server, match the type, rank and ideally the same part — send us the server model and current memory and we will check.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Kingston Server Premier 32GB DDR4-3200 ECC Registered DIMM (KSM32RS4/32HCR)
- Anti-static packaging — no heatspreader, screws or software
What It Means in Practice
- Most Intel Xeon Scalable (2nd/3rd gen) and AMD EPYC 7002/7003 servers run DDR4-3200 RDIMMs; older platforms (for example Xeon v4 or 1st-gen Scalable) run them at their own lower maximum speed.
- For best bandwidth populate every memory channel of each CPU equally — typically 6 or 8 identical modules per processor.
- ECC corrects single-bit errors and registered buffering keeps large memory configurations stable, which is why servers and virtualisation hosts use RDIMMs.
- Because Server Premier locks the DRAM die, ordering more of the same part later gives modules built the same way — useful when expanding an existing host.
What Will Not Work
- Desktop PCs and consumer motherboards (non-ECC or UDIMM-only) — registered memory will not POST
- Servers populated with LRDIMMs or 3DS RDIMMs — do not mix module types
- DDR3 or DDR5 servers — different notch and pin layout
- Laptops and mini PCs that use SO-DIMMs

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix it with the RDIMMs already in my server?
Usually yes if they are also DDR4 RDIMMs of the same rank type; all modules run at the speed of the slowest. Do not mix with LRDIMMs. For the most predictable result use identical modules per CPU.
Is it the same as the OEM (HPE, Dell, Lenovo) memory?
It is a JEDEC-standard RDIMM, not an OEM-branded part. Most servers accept it; some OEM management tools may report it as third-party memory. Send us the server model if you want us to check.
Does it work in a workstation?
Yes, in workstations whose platform supports registered ECC memory (for example Xeon W or Threadripper PRO). Not in desktop boards that only take unbuffered memory.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A single-rank 32GB RDIMM is the sweet spot for filling every channel of a DDR4-3200 server without paying for 64GB modules. Note: some distributor feeds list this part as 2666 MHz CL19 — Kingston's datasheet specifies DDR4-3200 CL22. Browse our
memory (RAM) range for other capacities and server modules.
✓ Buy it if your server or workstation takes DDR4 ECC Registered DIMMs and you need 32GB per slot at up to 3200 MT/s.
✕ Skip it if your system uses UDIMMs, LRDIMMs, DDR5 or requires an OEM-branded part for support reasons.
→ Also consider KSM32RD4/64HCR (64GB dual rank) if you need more capacity per slot.
Not sure it fits your server? Send us the server model and the memory already installed and we will check compatibility before you order.
