KMP B65B Compatible Ink Cartridge for Brother LC985BK, Black, 6.2 ml, up to 300 Pages, without Chip

KMP B65B is a black ink cartridge made by KMP PrintTechnik AG (Germany) as a compatible replacement for the Brother LC985BK, holding 6.2 ml and rated at up to 300 pages to ISO/IEC 24711 for Brother DCP-J125, DCP-J140W, DCP-J315W, DCP-J515W, MFC-J220, MFC-J265W, MFC-J410 and MFC-J415W printers.

LC985 printers are compact Brother inkjets from the DCP-J and MFC-J range that use four separate cartridges. This is the black one. These printers do not read a chip on the cartridge, which is why this cartridge is made without one.

• 1 × KMP B65B ink cartridge, black, 6.2 ml (replaces Brother LC985BK)
• Single cartridge only — the printer, the other colours and any printhead are not included

• Up to 300 A4 pages measured to ISO/IEC 24711 on standard office text and graphics. Dense black areas or full-page images use more ink than the test pages.
• Install it exactly like the original: open the ink cover, press the release on the empty cartridge, slide this one in until it locks and close the cover. Remove any orange protective cap or tape first — a cartridge left with its seal on will report as empty or not print.
• Some printers display a "non-genuine" or "used cartridge" notice the first time a compatible cartridge goes in. Confirm the message on the printer panel and printing continues — this is a printer prompt, not a fault in the cartridge.
• LC985 printers stop if one colour is empty, even in black-only printing. Keep spare colours as well as black if the printer is used regularly.
• For colour-critical photo work, print one test page after the change and compare it with your previous output before a large job.
• Keep spare cartridges or bottles sealed until you need them; ink in an opened container slowly dries at the nozzle or outlet, and a sealed pack keeps the ink in the condition it left the factory.

• It will not fit printers that take LC1100, LC980, LC123 or LC223 cartridges.
• It is black only — cyan, magenta and yellow LC985 cartridges are separate items.
• It has no chip, so it does not add chip-based ink-level reporting to the printer.
• It does not repair a clogged or worn printhead. If the original ink already printed streaks or missing lines, run the printer's cleaning cycle first — new ink cannot fix a printhead fault.
