LaCie 1big Dock 30TB Thunderbolt 3 HDD & Dock

30 TBIronWolf Pro / 7200 rpmUp to 300 MB/s2 × Thunderbolt 3 / SD / CF / DP 1.4

Bring large-project storage and desktop connections together. The LaCie 1big Dock STHS30000800 includes a 30 TB Seagate IronWolf Pro 7200 rpm hard drive, plus SD/CF card readers, a USB-A hub, DisplayPort 1.4 and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. It is a mains-powered desktop HDD and dock with the drive installed, not an empty enclosure or a multi-drive RAID system.

Before you order:
Check the host port, operating system and display connection requirements. A USB-C socket alone does not guarantee Thunderbolt performance or every docking function. Laptop charging and pass-through differ by hardware revision; check the P/N label before relying on a particular charging mode.

What's in the Box

  • LaCie 1big Dock with installed 30TB HDD
  • External power supply
  • Thunderbolt 3 cable (40 Gbit/s)
  • Quick Install Guide
  • Two-month Adobe Creative Cloud Pro All Apps trial, subject to terms
  • Rescue Data Recovery Services, subject to country availability

What It Means in Practice

  • Connect the supplied power adapter and the host port to a compatible computer with the Thunderbolt 3 cable. Insert a supported SD or CF card, copy its files through Finder/File Explorer to the installed HDD, then safely eject the card. Memory cards, monitors and other peripherals are purchased separately.
  • The HDD is rated up to 300 MB/s; the Thunderbolt link rating of 40 Gbit/s is not the hard drive transfer speed. Actual results vary with the operating environment, interface and drive capacity.
  • LaCie Toolkit offers backup/sync workflows. Check the current OS and software requirements; Time Machine use may require reformatting. Keep another backup because one HDD provides no multi-drive redundancy.
  • Revision identification: the manual lists P/N 2RR9P4-500, 2RR9P5-500, 2RR9PA-500, 2RR9P8-500, 2RR9PC-500 and 2RR9PE-500 as Version 1; all other P/Ns are Version 2. Read the bottom label, not just the retail model number.

What Will Not Work

  • Choose a bus-powered portable drive if your installation cannot provide the required external power.
  • Do not assume 70 W power pass-through on every unit: the current manual explicitly excludes it on Version 2. Check required display modes and host compatibility before ordering.

Key Features

Storage and card ingest
The installed enterprise-class IronWolf Pro HDD provides 30 TB, while dedicated SD and CF readers simplify copying camera media to the computer/storage workflow.

Desktop connections
Two Thunderbolt 3 ports allow host and peripheral connections. The front USB-A hub provides a further device connection and up to 7.5 W power.

DisplayPort and cooling
DisplayPort 1.4 supports a compatible display workflow. Actual modes depend on the host and displays. An aluminium enclosure and thermoregulated fan manage heat during desktop use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 30TB drive included?
Yes. This exact model includes the installed 30TB IronWolf Pro HDD. It is a single-drive product.
Can it charge my laptop at 70 W?
Only the documented Version 1 pass-through arrangement can reach up to 70 W with a suitable external USB-C supply rated at least 85 W, and the host may limit it. Version 2 has no power pass-through; its native charging limits are listed separately.
Does every USB-C laptop provide all display functions?
No. Check the host video/Thunderbolt capabilities, DisplayPort 1.4 support, display modes and required cables. The USB-C connector shape alone is insufficient.
