LaCie 1big Dock 20TB — Storage, Docking Station and Charger in One Cable
20TB IronWolf Pro InsideThunderbolt 3 · 40Gb/sSD + CF Ingest SlotsUp to 70W Laptop Charging
The LaCie 1big Dock 20TB is a Thunderbolt 3 desktop storage hub built for photographers, video editors and creative studios: one cable to your laptop delivers 20TB of enterprise-class storage, direct SD and CompactFlash card ingest, a USB 3.0 hub port, a DisplayPort 1.4 monitor output and up to 70W of pass-through charging. Part number STHS20000800, it houses a swappable Seagate IronWolf Pro 7,200 RPM drive — built for 24/7 reliability — delivering speeds up to 280MB/s, kept cool by an aluminium enclosure with a thermoregulated fan. A second Thunderbolt 3 port daisy-chains up to six devices. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility note: Requires a Thunderbolt 3 / Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 host port for full functionality (Windows 10+ or macOS). Charging power depends on configuration: up to 70W, typically 45W, or 30W while daisy-chaining other devices. The dock uses its own external power supply (included).
Best For
✓ Photographers ingesting SD/CF cards daily
✓ Video editors needing 20TB project storage
✓ One-cable laptop desk setups (storage + display + power)
✓ Replacing a dongle pile with a single hub
✓ Daisy-chained Thunderbolt studio workflows
✓ Long-term reliability — swappable enterprise drive
Key Features
Direct Card Ingest
Built-in SD and CompactFlash slots let you offload footage straight to the 20TB drive without a separate reader — the front-panel workflow this dock was designed around for photographers and DITs.
A Real Docking Station
Beyond storage: a USB 3.0 port for peripherals or card readers, DisplayPort 1.4 for a high-resolution monitor, and a second Thunderbolt 3 port that daisy-chains up to six devices — all reaching your laptop over one Thunderbolt cable.
Enterprise Drive, Swappable by Design
Inside sits a Seagate IronWolf Pro 7,200 RPM drive built for 24/7 workloads, delivering up to 280MB/s. The drive bay is user-accessible, so the disk can be swapped or upgraded — rare among desktop externals.
Charges Your Laptop Too
Up to 70W of pass-through power flows back up the Thunderbolt cable, so the same connection that carries your data and display also keeps your MacBook or Windows laptop charged at the desk.

Singular Expert Insight
Price the 1big Dock against the two things it replaces — a 20TB enterprise-class desktop drive plus a Thunderbolt dock with card readers and 70W charging — and it usually comes out ahead, while saving a power socket and two cables. The swappable drive bay is the quietly important feature: in five years you can drop in a bigger disk instead of replacing the whole unit. Choose the hard-drive 1big Dock when capacity per euro matters (ingest, projects, archive); choose the SSD Pro variant only if you cut multi-stream RAW where 280MB/s becomes the bottleneck.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You work from a Thunderbolt laptop and want storage, SD/CF ingest, a monitor port and laptop charging through one cable — with 20TB of swappable enterprise-class capacity.
Skip it if
Your computer lacks Thunderbolt 3/4/USB4, you only need plain storage (a simple desktop drive costs much less), or your codecs demand SSD speeds beyond 280MB/s.
Also consider
A smaller 1big Dock (8TB/16TB) to match your budget, the LaCie d2 Professional for storage without dock features, or the 1big Dock SSD Pro for RAW/8K workflows.
