The Lanberg ADS-RJ45-2RJ45-OS is a shielded RJ45 inline coupler with one RJ45 socket on one side and two RJ45 sockets on the other, all female. It lets you keep two devices permanently cabled to one network line and use them in turn, for example a laptop dock and a desktop that are never on at the same time.
Lanberg states clearly that the two connected devices can only work alternately, not simultaneously. It is a passive connector in a black housing, used with standard RJ45 patch cables.
Before you order: Only one of the two devices can use the connection at a time. It is not a switch and does not split one line into two working connections; if both devices must be online together, use a network switch.
