The Lanberg CA-SASA-13CU-0050-BK is a 50 cm SATA III (6 Gb/s) data cable with 7-pin female plugs at both ends, used to connect a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA SSD, hard drive or optical drive to the SATA port of a motherboard or controller card.
The design uses an angled plug to clear tight spaces next to a graphics card or the drive cage, and metal latch clips that lock the plug in place so the cable cannot work loose from vibration. Conductors are copper, AWG 26, and the cable is backward compatible with SATA II and SATA I ports.
Before you order: This is a data cable only — the drive also needs a SATA power lead from the power supply. If your layout needs straight plugs on both ends, ask us for the straight version before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- Connects one SATA drive to one SATA port: SSD upgrades, extra storage drives, DVD/Blu-ray drives.
- 6 Gb/s is enough for any SATA SSD — the SATA interface itself is the limit, not the cable.
- The latch clips stop intermittent disconnects that cause drives to disappear or RAID arrays to degrade.
- At 50 cm it reaches from most motherboards to the front drive bays of a mid-tower case.
What Will Not Work
- It does not carry power — it cannot power a drive on its own.
- It will not connect M.2 NVMe SSDs, which plug straight into the motherboard.
- It is not an eSATA or external cable and does not fit USB enclosures.
- It is not a SAS cable; SAS backplanes with SFF connectors need a dedicated SAS cable.
