LANCOM 1800VAW-4G — VDSL + 4G SD-WAN Gateway with Wi-Fi 6
VDSL SupervectoringLTE Advanced 4GWi-Fi 6 2×25× GbE · SFP combo
The LANCOM 1800VAW-4G is an all-in-one SD-WAN gateway with a built-in VDSL Supervectoring modem (up to 300 Mbps), an LTE Advanced 4G modem for backup or primary internet, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and five Gigabit Ethernet ports, for small offices and branches that want one secure box for internet, Wi-Fi and site VPN. It belongs to LANCOM’s "blackline" 1800 series, with a housing made from 70% recycled plastic.
Five IPsec/WireGuard VPN tunnels are included (25 with an option), and SD-WAN orchestration is available via the LANCOM Management Cloud (licence sold separately).
Before you order: The built-in modem is for VDSL/ADSL copper lines. For a fibre (FTTH) line you need either the operator’s ONT on an Ethernet WAN port or a LANCOM SFP module matching your provider (not included).

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it suitable for a fibre line?
Yes — connect the provider’s ONT to an Ethernet WAN port, or use a LANCOM SFP module that matches your provider. The built-in DSL modem is for copper lines only.
Can 4G run as the main connection?
Yes. It can be primary, backup, or load-balanced with DSL/Ethernet.
Does it replace a separate access point?
For a small office, yes — Wi-Fi 6 with up to 14 SSIDs covers typical needs; larger sites should add LANCOM access points.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 1800VAW-4G suits small offices that want internet, 4G failover, Wi-Fi and VPN in one managed box. Check your line type first: VDSL uses the built-in modem, fibre needs an ONT or SFP. For larger Wi-Fi coverage add dedicated
access points.
✓ Buy it if you have a VDSL or fibre line and want 4G backup, Wi-Fi 6 and VPN in one business-grade router.
✕ Skip it if you need 5G, many VPN tunnels out of the box, or rack-mount without an accessory.
→ Also consider the LANCOM 1930EF-5G for 5G and rack mounting.
