The LANCOM SFP-DAC100-1M in bulk package 60209 is a pack of eight 1 m direct attach cables for connecting two LANCOM devices through their 100G QSFP28 ports. Plugs and cable are one piece, so no separate transceivers or fibre are needed. It is designed for stacking and uplinks between switches in the same rack, on models such as the CS-8132F and YS-7154CF. In practice, a DAC is the cheapest and most reliable way to join two switches that sit next to each other: there are no optics to match and no fibre ends to clean. It is limited to its fixed length, so measure the route between the two ports, including cable management, before choosing.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Both ends need a 100G QSFP28 port. It does not fit 40G QSFP+ ports such as those on the XS-5116QF or XS-6128QF — those take the 40G SFP-DAC40. LANCOM switches need LCOS SX 3.30 RU3 or later. This article is eight cables; the single cable is 60203. At 1 m it reaches only the next unit in the rack — the 3 m version is 60210. Not sure?
