The LANCOM SFP-DAC100-3M (item number 60204) is a 3 m direct attach cable (DAC) for 100 Gbps connections between Rohde & Schwarz LANCOM devices. A DAC has the connectors fixed on both ends of the cable, so no separate transceivers are needed. It runs full duplex, can be swapped during operation and is rated for 0–70 °C. In the manufacturer’s compatibility table the 100G DAC is listed for the R&S Unified Firewall extension module 2× 100G QSFP28. In practice it links two 100G ports in the same or neighbouring racks at the lowest cost.
Compatibility — check before buying:
For 100G QSFP28 ports — not SFP+. Despite the “SFP” in its name, the only device listed for this cable is the Unified Firewall extension module with two 100G QSFP28 ports, so it will not plug into SFP+ or SFP28 switch ports. For 10G, 25G or 40G links LANCOM makes separate DAC cables (DAC10, DAC25, DAC40). The cable is 3 m; a 1 m version is 60203. Not sure? Tell us your model and we check it for you.
