The LANCOM Public Spot XL Option (item 61624) is a software licence that turns a LANCOM central gateway or WLAN controller into a professional hotspot for guests. Rohde & Schwarz lists it for the ISG-5000, ISG-8000 and WLC-2000. It keeps the guest network separate from the internal network, shows a captive portal with your own design, and lets staff create and print access vouchers in a few clicks. HTTPS login, a RADIUS and an XML interface, MAC authentication, bandwidth limits per user group and a walled garden are included. Rohde & Schwarz recommends it for about 2,500 concurrent users. Older price lists name this item “WLC-PSPOT Option for WLC-4025”; the current name is Public Spot XL Option.

Compatibility — check before buying:
For large LANCOM platforms only. Rohde & Schwarz lists the ISG-5000, ISG-8000 and WLC-2000; the WLC-4025 no longer appears on the current list. Smaller LANCOM routers and the WLC-60 use the standard Public Spot Option (128 or 256 users), which is a different item. Connecting a hotel PMS system (FIAS) needs the separate PMS Accounting Plus option. Not sure? Tell us your model and we check it for you.
