The LANCOM SFP-BiDi1310-LC10 (article 60202) is a 10 Gbit bidirectional SFP+ transceiver pair that runs a full link over one single-mode fibre strand, up to 20 km. One end transmits at 1270 nm and the other at 1330 nm, so both directions share the same fibre. It is meant for LANCOM aggregation switches such as the XS-5116QF, XS-6128QF and YS-7154CF where fibre strands between buildings are limited. In practice, bidirectional optics are used where fibre is scarce — a leased dark-fibre strand, a full duct or an old building link. Before you order, confirm which end of the strand gets which module type and that the fibre is single-mode all the way.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The two ends must be opposite types — A (1270 nm) facing B (1330 nm) on the same strand; two modules of the same type will not link. It is a 10G SFP+ part and LANCOM does not publish a 1G mode. It will not link to the 1G SFP-BiDi1550-SC1 (60201) or to a normal two-fibre LR module. The connector is a single LC/UPC, so the patch cord must be simplex UPC, not APC. Keep the dust cap on until you connect the fibre, and clean both connector ends before every mating — dirt is the most common cause of a link that will not come up. Not sure?
