LANCOM PSU 5A — 12 V / 5 A Power Supply for LANCOM Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 Access Points and 5G Gateways
12 V DC / 5 AEU power cordFor LX access pointsFor 1800/1803 5G
The LANCOM PSU 5A (item 61736, EU version) is the official external power supply for LANCOM access points and SD-WAN gateways that accept a 12 V DC input. It delivers 12 V / 5 A and lets you run a supported access point from a mains socket instead of PoE — useful where no PoE switch or injector is available, or where the PoE budget is already used up.
LANCOM is now part of Rohde & Schwarz and lists the unit as R&S LANCOM PSU 5A; older documents call it LANCOM WLAN PSU 5A. It is a desktop-style power brick with a 1.5 m DC lead to the device and a 1.8 m IEC mains cord with EU plug, accepting 100–240 V input according to LANCOM datasheets.
Before you order: Only for the LANCOM models listed by the manufacturer: access points LX-7400, LX-7200, LX-7200E, LX-6500, LX-6500E and gateways 1803VAW-5G, 1803VA-5G, 1800VA-5G, 1800EFW-5G. The supported access points do not ship with a power supply.
What's in the Box
- 1x LANCOM PSU 5A power supply (12 V / 5 A) with 1.5 m DC cable
- 1x 1.8 m IEC mains cord with EU (Schuko) plug
What It Means in Practice
- Power an access point from a wall socket when there is no PoE switch at the location.
- Keep PoE budget free on your switch for other devices by powering a high-draw Wi-Fi 6E/7 AP locally.
- LANCOM notes that the LX-6500/6500E draw up to 33 W via the 12 V supply, well within this PSU's rating.
- Order one PSU per access point — they are not included with the APs.
- The EU cord needs a Schuko outlet or a suitable adapter in Cyprus.
What Will Not Work
- LANCOM devices not on the compatibility list, or older APs that need a different PSU.
- Third-party access points or routers, even if they use 12 V.
- Powering the AP over Ethernet — this is a DC power brick, not a PoE injector.
- UK Type G wall sockets without a Schuko outlet or adapter.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most LANCOM installations run on PoE, but a local 12 V supply is the clean answer where no PoE switch is available or the switch budget is exhausted. Always check the AP model against LANCOM's list first. More items are in our
access points range.
✓ Buy it if you run a supported LANCOM LX access point or 5G gateway without PoE.
✕ Skip it if your switch already provides enough PoE, or your device is not on LANCOM's list.
→ Also consider a PoE injector or PoE switch to power the AP over its network cable.
