Laptop chargers and power supplies: original adapters from Dell, Lenovo, HP and ASUS, compatible replacements made for specific models, USB-C Power Delivery chargers and universal chargers with interchangeable tips, from 45 W to over 200 W.
How to choose the right laptop charger
- Start from the label on your current charger. Note the output voltage (V), current (A) or watts (W), and the connector. Your laptop model number also helps.
- Wattage. Use at least the wattage of the original. A weaker charger charges slowly or not at all under load. A higher-wattage charger is safe, because the laptop only draws what it needs.
- USB-C chargers work only if your laptop charges over USB-C (Power Delivery). Most business laptops of recent years do. Multi-port chargers share their total power between the ports.
- Barrel chargers must match the voltage exactly (for example 19 V, 19.5 V or 20 V) and the plug size. Dell, HP and Lenovo use different plugs, and some include an ID pin. A non-original adapter without it can trigger an "unknown adapter" warning or slow charging.
- Universal chargers come with several tips. Check that your laptop model is on the tip list before ordering.
- Plug type. Cyprus uses UK-type (three-pin) sockets. Some chargers ship with a European plug or cord, so check the listing or ask for a UK version.
- Original or compatible. Original adapters guarantee full compatibility; compatible ones from BTI and Origin Storage are made for listed models at a lower price.
