How to choose the right laptop accessory
- Security locks: match the slot. Laptops use a standard K-Slot (3 × 7 mm), a smaller Nano slot (2.5 × 6 mm) or a Wedge slot (common on Dell). Check the slot on your laptop before ordering. Laptops without a slot can use an adhesive anchor or slot adapter kit. For company fleets, choose models with a master key.
- Privacy filters: size and shape. Match both the screen size and the aspect ratio: a 14" 16:9 screen and a 14" 16:10 screen need different filters. Check whether your screen is touch, and how the filter attaches (adhesive tabs, bezel clips or magnetic).
- Laptop stands raise the screen to eye level to reduce neck strain. Use them with an external keyboard and mouse. Foldable stands travel well; adjustable desk stands offer more height settings.
- Cooling stands with fans help gaming and high-performance laptops that run hot under load.
- Organisers and straps. Pouches keep chargers, cables and adapters together. Spare shoulder straps fit most bags with D-rings.
- Complete the setup with a docking station or a spare charger.
