The LC-Power LC-35U3-C turns a 3.5-inch SATA hard drive into an external USB-C drive for home users, offices and technicians who want to reuse a desktop disk for backups or data recovery: it takes drives up to 16TB and connects over USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) with UASP support.

The housing is aluminium alloy and plastic, an external mains adapter powers the drive, and S.M.A.R.T. pass-through lets monitoring tools read the drive's health over USB.

Before you order: The drive is not included. Only a USB-C to USB-A cable is supplied — for a USB-C-only laptop you need a USB-C to USB-C cable, sold separately. The enclosure always needs its mains adapter.

  • A new or reused drive may need initialising and formatting before it appears in Windows or macOS.

What Will Not Work

  • 2.5" laptop drives without an adapter frame — LC-Power publishes support for 3.5" drives only.
  • Running from USB bus power — 3.5" drives need the included mains adapter.
  • USB-C to USB-C connection without buying the optional C-to-C cable.
  • Drives larger than 16TB — not confirmed by LC-Power.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put a 2.5" SSD in it?
LC-Power only lists 3.5" SATA drive support. For a 2.5" drive choose a 2.5" enclosure.
Will my existing data still be there?
Yes, if the drive was formatted in a way your computer can read (e.g. NTFS on Windows). The enclosure does not change the data.
Why is there no USB-C to C cable?
LC-Power supplies a USB-C to A cable; a C-to-C cable is offered as an option. Tell us and we will add one.
Does it turn off with the computer?
LC-Power does not publish a sleep or auto-power feature; check the manual for the power behaviour.
