The Lenovo ThinkVision P32UD-40 is a 31.5-inch 4K monitor built to be the only thing a laptop plugs into. Its Thunderbolt 4 port carries video, 40 Gbps of data and up to 140 W of power in one cable — and unlike most monitors in this class, the Thunderbolt cable is supplied. The IPS panel runs 3840x2160 at up to 120 Hz, covers 98% DCI-P3 and 99% sRGB, and arrives factory calibrated to an average Delta E below 2 with a printed report. Behind it sit 2.5 Gigabit ethernet, a USB hub, a KVM switch and both Thunderbolt and DisplayPort outputs for daisy chaining a second screen.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? This monitor has no speakers. Lenovo lists “Modular Speaker Support”, which means an optional soundbar can be attached — nothing is built in and nothing is included. There is no webcam and no microphone either; the camera is also a modular option sold separately. Plan for headphones or a separate speaker if the desk needs sound. The 140 W power delivery is on the Thunderbolt 4 upstream port only; the downstream USB-C port is data-only at 15 W. Note also Sync Technology: None — despite the 24–120 Hz variable refresh range, Lenovo publishes no FreeSync or G-Sync support, so this is a productivity and colour-work display rather than a gaming one. Two things separate this from the ultrawide P34wd-40 sitting next to it, and neither is obvious from a spec list. First, pixel density: 140 dpi against 110. On a 31.5-inch 4K panel, text and CAD linework are noticeably crisper, and the panel pivots to portrait — which the ultrawide does not. Second, sound: the P34wd-40 has 3 W speakers built in, and this one has none at all. That single difference sends more of these back than any other, so decide before you order. What you gain is a genuine Thunderbolt 4 connection with the cable supplied, a Thunderbolt output for daisy chaining, and the same 140 W charging and 2.5GbE that make it a docking station as well as a screen.
