Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 — The Ultra 7 at 1.27 kg, With Memory You Can Still Change
Intel Core Ultra 7 355, 49 TOPS NPU32GB LPCAMM2, upgradable to 64GB512GB PCIe NVMe with Opal 2.01.27 kg, 3-year warranty included
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 in this configuration puts the faster Core Ultra 7 355 into a chassis that weighs from 1.27 kg, with 32GB of LPCAMM2 memory and a 512GB PCIe NVMe drive. The processor runs eight cores to 4.7 GHz with a 49 TOPS neural engine, which clears the Copilot+ PC bar. The point of difference against most thin business laptops is the memory: LPCAMM2 is a removable low-profile module rather than soldered chips, so 64GB stays possible later. Base warranty is three years with Premier Support included, and the chassis passes MIL-STD-810H testing.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The memory is LPCAMM2, not SODIMM. It is removable and upgradable to 64GB, but only an LPCAMM2 module fits — ordinary laptop SODIMMs and modules from older ThinkPads will not. There is one module position, so upgrading replaces the 32GB rather than adding to it, and Lenovo lists the 64GB option at LPDDR5X-7467 while this ships at 6800. The graphics are basic integrated Intel, not Arc — the T14 Gen 6 with the Ultra 7 258V is the model with Arc 140V. The display is 45% NTSC at 60 Hz, 400 nits and matte: right for documents and code, wrong for colour work. It is not a touchscreen and does not support a pen. There is no card reader, only two USB-A ports, mobile broadband is upgradable to 5G but not fitted with no SIM included, and the machine is Non-vPro.
Best For
✓ Daily carrying where 1.27 kg is the point
✓ Buyers who want the faster processor without paying for 1TB
✓ Thin machines where soldered memory is a deal-breaker
✓ Windows 11 Pro fleets needing smart card and fingerprint sign-in
✓ Copilot+ features running locally on the 49 TOPS NPU
✓ Deployments that want three years of cover in the base price
Key Features
LPCAMM2 — thin, and still serviceable
Most laptops at this weight solder the memory permanently. LPCAMM2 is a compact removable module that keeps dual-channel performance while leaving a real path to 64GB — the difference between a machine you replace and one you upgrade.
Ultra 7 with a 49 TOPS neural engine
Eight cores, four performance and four low-power efficiency, reaching 4.7 GHz with 12 MB of Intel Smart Cache. The neural processor is rated up to 49 TOPS, so Copilot+ features run on the machine rather than in the cloud.
1.27 kg with a 60 Wh battery
A shell of carbon-fibre reinforced polycarbonate on top and glass-fibre reinforced on the base, tested to MIL-STD-810H, with the screen filling 87.44% of the lid.
100 W of USB-C power delivery
Both Thunderbolt 4 ports carry DisplayPort 2.1 and accept 15–100 W of power delivery — more headroom than the 65 W ceiling most business laptops set, so one dock can drive displays and charge under load.

Singular Expert Insight
This is the sensible middle of the three T14 Gen 7 configurations: the faster Ultra 7 355 without paying for storage you may not need. If most of your work lives on a network share or in cloud storage, 512GB is plenty and the processor is where the money is better spent; if you carry large local files, the 1TB version of this exact machine is the one to take. The more consequential decision is against the T14 Gen 6 with the Ultra 7 258V, which is not simply the older model — it brings Arc 140V graphics and a touchscreen but solders its 32GB permanently, while this generation has upgradable LPCAMM2, a larger 60 Wh battery, 100 W charging and 110 g less weight. For a fleet expected to last four or five years, the upgradable memory usually settles it. With 100 W power delivery a Thunderbolt dock can replace the charger at the desk; spares are in our laptop power supply range.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want the Ultra 7 in a 1.27 kg ThinkPad, 512GB is enough local storage, and you value the option of 64GB later plus three years of cover already in the price.
Skip it if
You need Arc-class graphics or a touchscreen, you keep large files locally and would rather have the 1TB version, or your IT team requires Intel vPro management.
Also consider
The same T14 Gen 7 with a 1TB drive if you store large files locally. The Ultra 5 325 version if the processor step is more than you need. ThinkPad T14 Gen 6 with the Ultra 7 258V for Arc 140V graphics and a touchscreen, at the cost of soldered memory.
