The Lenovo ThinkStation P2 Tower Gen 2 is a workstation built to be filled. This configuration ships with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K — 24 cores, eight performance and sixteen efficiency, reaching 5.7 GHz — on the W880 workstation chipset, with 32GB of DDR5 in one of four slots and a 1TB PCIe NVMe drive. The 750 W Platinum power supply is sized for a graphics card that is not fitted yet, and the machine carries full Intel vPro Enterprise with AMT 16 for remote management. It is aimed at CAD, simulation, compilation and render work where cores and headroom matter more than what comes in the box.
Compatibility — check before buying:
???? No graphics card is included. Lenovo lists Discrete Graphics as none — display output comes from the processor’s integrated graphics through HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4 sockets. The 750 W Platinum supply and the chassis are sized for a card, but you buy it separately. If your work needs GPU acceleration, budget for it. ???? There is no Wi-Fi and no Bluetooth — the only network connection is the Intel I219-LM gigabit ethernet port. The memory is Non-ECC UDIMM, not registered ECC; if your workflow requires ECC, this is the wrong configuration. There is no chassis intrusion switch and no cover lock on this model, though a Kensington slot and a padlock loop are fitted. Two of the four rear USB-A ports are USB 2.0. The keyboard is an English (UK) layout, matching this UK part number. Tell us your software and we will check the ISV certification list before you order.

This is a machine bought for what it will become rather than what arrives. Twenty-four cores, a workstation chipset, four memory slots and a 750 W Platinum supply, with 32GB fitted, no graphics card and no wireless — Lenovo has spent the budget on the platform and left the expansion to you. That is the right call for CAD, simulation and compilation, where cores and memory bandwidth decide the job. It is the wrong call if you expected a finished machine: budget for a graphics card if your software uses one, and remember there is no Wi-Fi at all. The vPro Enterprise support is worth noting on its own — it is the only machine here that carries it, and for a managed fleet that can matter more than the processor.
